OK, here's the thing:

I have the FPSC 30 day demo, and I'm just messin' around, seein' how it works. Here is the whatever it is:

I'm thinking of making a game when I get the real version of FPSC, and it's called Automatic: Biological Warfare. Pretty cool, eh? In it, you steal bio samples (blood germs that feed on your blood and kill you, ew!), briefcases full of money, gold, and steal dossiers on your character (Jason Thorne). Here's the thing: how do I make an unarmed character have a gun and shoot me? Like an unarmed AI robot in the Scifi/Entities/Characters, and I wanna give him/her a Colt .45. How should I give him the shoot.fpi, and I know the rate of fire (RoF) is supposed to be 25-85. How should I make an unarmed character use a different gun than what is in their category? If you tell me, thanks for your help.

I presume you want the look and feel of one character, but not the weapon. In which case all you have to do is right-click the character and either change the texture by selecting the texture of a different version of the character (ie change AI_1_d2.dds to AI_2_d2.dds) or click on the "has weapon" box a select a different weapon.

Good luck,
AE

Yeah, I can do that, but if I want the AI to have a Colt .45, which shoot.fpi script should I use?

When you right click the entity in the editor, it brings up his properties. Click in the "Has Weapon" box and select the weapon you want him to have.

Welcome to the forum.

If you downloaded and installed the trial, the manual is in the program folder. Don't forget to check it out.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

I've the trial, read the manual, and got it. You have to give the enemy the main shoot.fpi, and the shoot is shoot.fpi, and select it's gun.

There are a variety of AI scripts that you can give a character for a main script or a shoot script and there are even custom AI scripts made by our forum members.
I am going to move this to the scripts forum where they can better assist you.

That is 100% NOT true. Think of it this way. The 30 day trial onlyl comes with some of the characters. The only AI you get to use, is the unarmed AI. Well, he wants to use it. So he gives it a gun. Okay that makes sense for the 30 day trial. Well it still makes sense for the full version. Makes sense for the full version so you can have a larger variety of enemy that attack you. Put it this way, it's kinda silly if say all blue Aiko have a pistol. All green aiko have a shotgun. And all orange Aiko are unarmed. Look at Halo and Halo 2 for example. They have a bunch a different colored elites. Same goes here, a bunch of different textured enemy.

Sometimes ya just gotta think outside the box
