Hi,

Well recenetly after just 1 hour, my pc has started randomly shutting down and rebooting, i've tryed AV scans and Anti Spyware scans as well
and this has well, left me no closer to finding the problem, usally i can run macromedia firewors + dw , msn , firefox with about 5/6 tabs, add music to my mp3 player, Listen to music (like i always do 24/7 ) and lots more (Irc , google earth e.t.c) howvere now i can't even run 4 apps (DW + fireworks + Firefox and Itunes minimized) without my pc making a high pitched beep and shutting off, no blue screen or anything, fan seems to be running fine, any idea's /solutions appreciated thanks.

I've got a new account because all my order's go to my new e-mail.

leave the lid off, run all them apps like you said earlier. does it last longer? does it reboot at all?

if no reboots, put the lid back on. run for a bit with all apps, does it then at some point reboot?

this might take some hours of experimenting.

Going to try with the lid off later on today, but i've tracked it down to these 2 apps : Fireworks and Dreamweaver

If i run anything else at the sametime it doesn't reboot no matter how long i have it running for , the thing is i've been able to run it with both running at the sametime before

did you recently install dreamweaver and/or fireworks on another computer on the network?

Don't forget to look at your heat-sink for dust cloggs.

If you clean it out, you'll be able to easily get another few degree's off your max temp!

When i blew up my pc, i had a pc repair guy to come out and check what was wrong with it (i already knew... took him 20 mins to figure out... i diddn't bother telling him i was curious to see how long it would take)

Unfortunately it was the HDD, the pc wasn't booting because it was draining all the power. But anyway this guy was poking around and messing around with the heatsink.
after he installed a new HDD a few days later the pc kept crashing and shutting down randomly.

I investigated to find that this guy had removed all the silicon gel off the processor! what a noob. after applying a healthy layer of gel, its been fine.

one of your components will be overheating severely! What i do is take off the case a put a fan next to the pc.... no problems at all since.

Also i vacuum my pc out about every month. (It actually does make a speed difference moving out the dust)

If you fix your case so that you have proper air-flow by adding maybe a fan at the back right below your PSU, or a fan at the front to suck air in, then you will get MUCH better results than taking the side off and having a fan blowing directly onto it.

The idea is to reduce the amount of turbulance from multiple differently oriented fans, and keep fresh air flowing in from the front.

If, however, you're in a situation like me where all the air in the house is hot anyway, you might be best off with a water-cooling system, or something to that effect.

Jess.
