I'm new with FPSC but I have 2 years experience with C++. FPI Script seems easy to learn. I have a problem with the sound zone. There's a very long .wav file that is supposed to play throughout the whole level, it does, but once the player moves away from the sound zone, the sound fades away. I played around with the script, but can anyone help me keep the sound from fading?

What you need to do is place the Sound Zones Main AI Script to
soundinzone.fpi You don't even need to expand it over the entire lvl.

All the plr needs to do is step into the zone and the music will play all throughout the lvl.

You could also go to:
File\Build Game\Global Script\setuplevel\Music\mysound1.wav [or whatever you named it]

Ohh, Welcome to the Forums!

Best of Luck,

Nope. It still fades off into the distance. There's nothing wrong with the file, I edited it myself. Does anyone know how to stop this?

There's only one other possible alternative.

Your music is too short.

(Sorry of I seem annoying here. When someone else posts here, you'll get more options.)

Best of luck,

I think there's something wrong with the FPI script itself, or maybe the programmers made it a 3D sound script from the beginning. I'll keep playing around with the scripts. Any other advice?

If I'm not mistaken, the sound zones have just been fixed in one of the recent updates to fade away sooner so that local sounds are not carried throughout the level. It seems that if you wanted a wav to play throughout the whole level, you would assign it to the level in Level Settings of the Build Game dialog.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.
