Well, I just got my 360 for Christmas and I'm looking for some new games to play. I have Gears of War and Dead Rising, but I'm looking to add to my collection. I've heard good news about Rainbow Six: Vegas and F.E.A.R but I don't know if I want to get them. Any you guys recommend?

Rainbow Six: Vegas, looks awesome, same for F.E.A.R, they probably would be worth buying, I've heard a lot of good about them, I tried the demo of F.E.A.R. on my PC, but the performance was terrible, mind you I am below spec, but it was worth a try The physics of it appear to be impressive and from what I've heard the overall gameplay is impressive, if you're PC is powerful enough for it, download a demo of both as they have PC versions and judge for yourself.

Prey is a game I would recommend, I've played it for PC as I don't have a 360, but it should be worth a purchase, I like it a lot myself, good graphics, good physics a good storyline to follow, good gameplay, good multiplayer. One feature I love is the fact that physics can changes, meaning you can walk up wall paths and walk along the ceiling etc. It's quite a peculiar game to play and is highly rated, I don't have the full version, but have played the demo that shows an awful lot, even two multiplayer levels.

Thanks a lot. My friend has F.E.A.R, so I'll ask him if I can borrow it to test it out. I'm still debating about RS: Vegas because I'm not a big Tom Clancy fan.

Thanks again for the advice. Anyone else have some recommendations?

All of those games you are interested in have full playable demos to download free over Xbox Live.

What about The elder scrolls IV: Oblivion, ok it's a bit glitchy here and there but it's still a good game.

I would recommend Gears of War or Call of Duty 3 and you gotta get fear because the story a little eery there and then but it's full out fights. And the online side is quick and brill.

My favourite Xbox game of last year was Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Simply gorgeous graphics with a deep storyline, filled with realistic characters--- plus it works on the 360

Favourite Xbox 360 game of last year: Viva Pinata. By a windfall. Rare have successfully amalgamated Animal Crossing and RTS design. Simply stunning graphics, too.

LOL! Viva Pinata! That game is funny as hell. I played it at my friend's house for a bit and it's ok. Although, it is a little childish, but maybe I'll rent it to try it more.

Thanks for the advice. F.E.A.R is probably where I'm headed.

Yeah Halo 3 is coming out 11-17-2007.

I'm not really a big Halo fan. Although since it will probably be the last one, I'll end up getting it. The thing that makes me mad is the fact that I can't go into a video game store without being harrassed by the employees to put a down payment on the fricken game. I mean really, every person who's a gamer knows about it. If I wanted to put a down payment on it, trust me, I would say so.

I think it is actually definitely not the last one. Even ignoring Halo Wars and whatever Peter Jackson comes up with, I seem to remember them saying they would keep making Halo games, but they just wanted to make some other stuff so they weren't "the Halo studio".

Rainbow Six (IMO way better then fear, fear is old and dated already and it shows, rainbow six is a much better way to spend your money)

If you like racing games i would get burnout revenge it has a arcade feel instead of Sim, there is a demo up on live and i think its only $29 right now, it has quite a bit of replay value.

But i would say Six over Fear.

Yes sorry, I forgot to mention Call of Duty 2 and 3, I've got Call of Duty 2 for my PC and they're right, it is the best WW 2 shooter out there, I don't normally play WW 2 shooters, but this one has got me hooked, there are 3 stories, you get the Russian one where play as Vasili, the English one where you play as John Davis and the American one and I have no clue what the guy is called, haven't unlocked it yet.

Such tasks you get is using explosives to explode tanks that are attacking you, control tanks and blow up enemy tanks (that's the bit where I kind of had some friendly fire, by blowing up 3 ally Tanks by accident), control a set of artillery from the top of a building to frag a crowd of Nazis coming to attack and so on.

It's also quite thrilling, as the AI system is really good in my opinion and quite realistic, but its amusing how the commanders/Generals never die and are always the best fighters, mind you the storyline wouldn't work if they died. It's a quality game, I seriously recommend it.

The childish aspect is really a misconception. It is a *really* hard game to master for adults, let alone kids

Oblivion is only good if you like RPGs, which I don't. Call of Duty 3 looks great, but IMHO it wasn't as good as COD2. Gears of War is great.

I would also recommend picking up some great original Xbox games that will run in backwards compatibility: Max Payne 2 ($9.99 in some stores), Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (best Xbox game of '06), Psychonauts, and of course Burnout 3 Takedown. Of course, Burnout Revenge for the 360 is miles greater than B3 in my opinion, but B3 is probably much cheaper.

I think I'm probably going to wait for Lost Planet. I think it's coming out this month. I played the demo and it's great.

Splinter Cell : Double Agent
Viva Pinata
Gears of War
Ninty-Nine Nights
Kameo : Elements of Power
Rainbow Six : Vegas
Perfect Dark Zero
Tomb Raider : Legend
Condemned (freaks my lass out, very atmospheric!)

would be my highest recommendations.
honestly I'd say ignore Oblivion it's absolute crap and takes up 2GB of you're HDD for no reason what so ever (quicker loading times my arse!). It's possibly the worst game I've played in a long long time.

F.E.A.R. is also ignore worthy. Both myself and a friend like games like that, but we got about half-way through and the only thing that pushed us on to complete it was the achiements.
