I've seen some of the work done by people like Butterfingers and I was wondering how you change the explosion effect played when an object is destroyed? Usually there is just a puff of smoke or something. I would like to be able to change it to an explosion decal if possible. Any ideas?

i think you can change it in the objects FPE.
