Hey,
So did anyone watch the premiere of 24? What'd you think of it? I liked it, thought it got a good story (or stories for that matter) going. I like how they follow so many parts of the story so you don't get bored with just one. I thought it also (intentionally I'm assuming) leaned towards what many people believe society is heading towards. What'd you think?

Yuck, Cant stand that show. The whole premise about this "super awesome world saving jack bower" Person annoys me to much to even consider watching it.

If your going to slag off an amazing TV show at least spell his name properly.

Jack Bauer.

24 is amazing, comes out here soon. Prisonbreak S2 starts over here tonight, even though I saw the first 6 episodes on YouTube

I love 24. There are times that are filled with junk, like his idiot daughter from the earlier seasons, but for the most part it is excellent. I'm all about Jack killing some terrorists.

I haven't watched season 5 yet, I supposed I'll have to watch it and then get season 6 on DVD, but the first 4 series are great Gotta love Jack Bauer, but I bet he won't die yet again in these series, they're going to have to kill him eventually, otherwise 24 will start to get samey.

Agreed, they try to make it realistic at the same time and fails.

I don't think 24 is meant to be realistic, but rather to be dramatic and keep the viewers on edge as opposed to anything, if it was realistic Jack Bauer would be long dead, if they approached realism, I don't think they could hold the suspense as well as they do, which is the whole idea of it, that's why often or not they'll leave you on a cliff hanger at the end of an episode. Also remembering that if 24 were really realistic, then it would be boring "12:30, Jack Bauer takes a wizz, picks up a donut, sits down and reads Art of War whilst eating the donut, Edgar plays computer games looking behind her just in case Tony notices she isn't doing her work, and the dun dun dun! The coffee machine stops working, all this being done whilst George Mason is on a 3 hour journey to where the police found a nuclear lab"

The suspense would just fall.

Yup, except there is only one good hospital show and that's Scrubs, gotta love it

24 isn't meant to be realistic, It is meant to be a form of entertainment. If you want realism watch the news!

The themes and plots are taken from news headlines and alot of research is taken into series. Day 3, for example, they couldn't find a real virus so they made one up, the suicide pills were also just called "suicide pills" as cianide wasn't as painless as many think.

Prisonbreak S2 is going to be very good fun.
24 Series 6 is going to be very good fun.

End of.

Want realism, watch the news, ok?

[edit]
Oh yea,

dont diss 24, ever, ever...if you do not even Jack Bauer can save you.

Each series of 24 gets better. and better.

Jack Bauer ain't the same man anymore. It's evident from the first two episodes. Kal Penn did a surprisingly good job with his character, considering he's mainly been doing comedy before now, so he may really be an up and comer in the acting industry.

I just started watching 24 and I have to say it's not half bad. It's intense and suspenseful. At least it's better than "Lost" which is the most stupid show ever conceived.

Nothing puts me to sleep faster than a glass of warm milk and some 24. Of course that could just be my disposition towards television in general talking.

Season 6 has been great so far. And Prison Break's returning from hiatus soon - I can't wait. Even if 24 hits a mid-season slump like it usually does, there's still gonna be Prison Break with a consistent level of awesomeness.

I dont watch any of those shows anymore. I started watching 24 waaay at the start and prison break never really grabbed my attention. Im finding television a lot less shiny as i get older.

I've watched the firs two episodes now (Who cares if I haven't watched season 5 yet) but I must say it's good as ever, but hope they don't repeat the same ideas too much from the old series, I mean we've already had the teenaged middle eastern boy caught up in terrorist plots, okay the last one had good intentions and this one has bad ones. but seems to be the same. However the 24 dudes have done their job extremely well again so far.

Of course, I new Jack Bauer wouldn't die so easily, I knew he'd find a way to escape or a reason...But then you don't need to be genius to see that by now. But they may eventually kill him, which would be interesting.

Yup, we get a lot of American shows over here as well as the English, we get the good ones and the crap ones through Sky. We watch all of the good ones, yet for some reason my sister would much rather watch the crap ones. (With bad actors, bad special effects, terrible storyline and badly directed)

Well what did people think of hours 3 and 4 then? A nice little cliff hanger ending for next week, all I can say is boom boom! and too many damn breaks, they had one 3 minutes before the end, how silly. I was thinking the cliff hanger end of the episodes would be Jack Bauer about to commit suicide, but there was something bigger, so I'm satisfied

Lol, as long as somebody dies, your happy . I was surprised that they actually made the bomb explode, because in most shows they would stop it at the last second. But this is the first season I've watched it, so I'm not used to their style yet . I think they will make a few more explode before they stop the last one or two. Hour 6 on tomorrow! Can't wait! I record the episodes with DVR, and start about 15-20 minutes late, so I don't have to watch the commercials .
