I am trying my hand at texturing and I wanted to know; is it possible for me to alter original textures without breking the licence. I won't be posting it here or anything just hopefully releasing it as a game.

p.s what program do I need to open the ".fps" files in the segments folder?

of course. it would only be an issue if you REDISTRIBUTED the TGC textures.
