I wrote a 2 page response to this in word just a moment ago, then decided it was ridiculously mean and accusatory, not to mention noob-slapage worthy.

I am going to attempt to offer 'constructive' criticism. Stay focused, here is an article regarding multi-tasking and programming, it also discusses working on one project at a time.

http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/fog0000000022.html

Secondly, for crying out loud, quit using MSPaint! Here is an additional link to some free software that will wheel you along on your turbo-scooter:
http://www.gimp.org/windows/

Get it, learn it, use it.

In summary, it would be advantageous to your endeavors to work on the overall 'appearance' of your work in addition to it's usability, need I say functionality? Put the ritalin down and pick up your keyboard, give your work some serious thought and finish some of the projects you start. No one will ever take you seriously until you demonstrate some REAL effort in your projects.

Quit planning to make a game and make a game.

Alternatively, check out Paint.NET. It's actually getting quite powerful, not to mention considerably easier to pickup than something more like GIMP.

Get Paint.NET

Jordan Stories Games, I admire your attempt, but you still have so much to learn before you can become an ultra-n00b. For Example:

1. Always post giant bitmap screen shots that encompass the entire screen. Make sure they show something really irrelevant, like a sphere on a matrix. Also, do NOT attempt to compress the image in any way, it needs to be as big as possible.

2. When faking screenshots, Make sure you paste a fake HUD over a picture of cshop level, it will look more realistic, and be in 3d.

3. Make No attempt to use grammatically correct language. Words like OMG and LOL will instantly put you a cut above the common n00b. Also, be sure not to use periods and write in all caps.

4. Above all else, do NOT try to make your own media and code. Instead, post requests for media with no incentive for others to answer. Take note that providing evidence of a WIP game is not recommended, as this will involve work of some degree.

5. Make a Fake Company, staff it with imaginary friends (we all know no n00b has real ones) and if you can, make a website showing your company, but don't attempt to make anything worth looking at, just post trivial news and make sure to put a fake copyright sign on the bottom, we wouldn't want anyone stealing your l33t ideas would we?

This looks like another one of those games.

Why don't we leave Jordan in his own world, and let him atone for wasteing forum space.

Just let this thread die, and give attention to more deserving threads.

Jordan,
Apparently you just don't learn, do you? For the last time:
!!!!!!!!QUIT USING INSTALLERS FOR WIP DEMOS!!!!!!!!!

You didn't prove anything with that installer. All it did is give me an error message saying something like "Your computer is not compatible with Windows XP" when in fact, I am running XP. Why don't you just give us the .exe that you compiled with DarkBASIC? It would be so much simpler and give you that much more credibility. Also, you seem to have forgotten the requirements for posting a WIP. You should have something real to show, not just a bunch of ideas and a screenshot you drew in paint.

Good performance is better than a good excuse.

@Crazy Ninja

I have explicit written consent from the Council of N00b Relations to enact n00b training on anyone deemed, "OMG NOt L33t lOL". If you have a problem with that, your facing swift action in the form of millions of MMORPG announcements and team request emails.

@JSG - I have locked your threads *several* times telling you how to make a proper WIP. I will lock this one, and if you want it unlocked when you are READY to show something, I will unlock it for you or you can create another thread.

Don't use installers for your demo.
