Hey, does anyone here play bf2? I'm starting a clan. I have an 18 slot server. I have a website, but it was for a clan with a different name, and I'm going to fix that soon. If you want to join the clan, or just want a reserved slot, leave a message here, or email me (pwnz@sonic-chocolate.com), or Xfire me (torsor111), or MSN me (tortoid@hotmail.com). Need to have contact options. Right now it is running infantry only, Karkand. The clan is called "The NO ideas", so look for '=TGC=' in BF2 to try out the server. I don't know if I should make this TGC only (comments on this?). If you have any questions or comments, you know how to contact me.
Edit
Any of you that want to see some of the details (IP Included), go here: http://www.game-monitor.com/GameServer/72.232.134.166:16567/TGC_The_Game_Creators_RANKED_Recruiting.html

Really no excuse not to now that it's fairly cheap. If I manage to get it running at a half-decent speed again I might join you Torsten.

It's very cheap now. The only reason I haven't bought it yet is because my bank balance is rather low, and apparently I'm supposed to leave a certain amount of money in there.

My bank balance was low once... Now low isn't a strong enough word to describe it

I've recently gotten back into it again, seeming to play nothing but IO on karkand as well.

I may have to hold you to this .

I know on the surface they're not great, but they're tainted by somewhat of a poor start to the game.
Most games I end up with about 1.5:1 average at least.

What's the IP so I know I can find it (given the state of the in game browser and all)?

Now those are the stats of a 1337 player , though I only play bf2142 now, I used to play alot of heli in bf2, as I was totally awsome at it, and used to be planes before they nerfed it(owning wake was so fun) and I'm a great sniper, but sniping sucks in 2142.

Okay everyone, more people posting that I expected. I updated the first post with the IP, so you can try the server out. Since the server is ranked, it ranked 6 people to start a game, otherwise it will say it needs more players, so you can run around and frag, it just won't give you points. I'm going to be busy for a few hours (or less) now, but if you want to get on Xfire we could run around and do stunts and demo derby's.

i miss bf2, i got it the day it came out, played on average an hour a day, and stopped playing the moment 2142 hit the shelves.

I prefer bf2. It has a better feel to it IMO. The feeling of being surrounded on Wake Island, it the Beach. Trying to fight your way out, until an enemy tank rolls up.

I would do Karkand and wake island, if only I could do IO Karkand and normal Wake with vehicles, it would be a great server

Everything sucks in BF2142 .

Yes I play BF2, and it's one of my favorite games . Will we have to pay for a slot in the clan? If not, I'd be happy to join . I think you should make it only TGC, it'd be fun to have a server where only we play against eachother.

EDIT: I see the servers in Frisco, TX, a mere 8 miles from where I live in Plano, TX, yay, no lag! . Why is the server in Frisco if your in Seattle? I guess you don't host from your computer (never hosted anything before like that, before you say I'm an idiot )

EDIT2: Seems I don't have the same version, guess I haven't downloaded the latest patch, strange, I thought I had, I'll download it now . Oh, I see, I downloaded 1.4, not 1.41

I suck at flying the jets and Helicopter in first person view. Mainly the copter. I'm using a joystick, so does anyone know what I can do to improve my sorry skills.

Thanks,

I was just on your server some by myself, and I found something quite fun to do, get a jet, fly it straight up to 2000 feet, eject out (don't parachute) and you get almost a whole minute of free diving, with your jet flying down right next to you, weaving in and out of you the whole time. Very entertaining .

me and a friend did it in the gunship on 2142, went really high, then both jumped out and raced to see who the first to get back in was. the winner than had the job of manouvering the craft to pick up the other guy while hes still freefalling.

great fun

Indeed it does. Sniping is crap though and generally lowers the quality of the game, so I'm happy.

Being that I'm in the UK, I'm not likely to happen to join the server just when other people play.

Fancy making a time where everyone joins?

Well, that would be difficult between people in the US and UK. When its about 9am (PST/GMT -8), its around 7pm in the UK.
So for the UK any time from 7pm to 8pm, thats when I'll most likely be on, and for the the is thats mainly around 8-10am.

How does it not work? You mean you can't connect to any servers? If thats it, make sure you're firewall allows it in exceptions, and that your ports are forwarded.

I say 11:00-12:00AM or 3:00-6:00PM (Central, which would be 5:00-6:00PM or 9:00-12:00PM GMT), because for US it'd be getting up and afternoon doing nothing, and for GMT it'd be afternoon before dinner and at night when most people are on the computer anyways .

You don't need to forward any ports to make outgoing connections.

I basically close my firewall before I play, but when I join a server I can't move my mouse. However, I can still hear voiceover and sound effects.

I had that problem, patch 1.4 totally screws up the controls, go into the options > controls, then set it to default, and it will work for sure.

I love BF2 but haven't played for a long time. Are there still plenty of people playing it?

I would be interested in joining a BF 2 clan, too.

I play, at the moment mostly karkand inf only. I love Jalalabad inf only but for some reason it crashes at 4 or 5 rounds on a Jalalabad only server, weirdness.

Whooo hooo! It worked. Thanks Torsten.

Anyway, I think a TGC clan would be pretty cool. The only problem is that while I'm a Major in BF2142, I'm only a Lance Corpral in BF2.

It has been renamed. Anyone who wants to be in the clan, please wear the clan tag. It is =TGC=. If you don't know hw to add the clan tag, when you open BF2 and you are in the login screen, just enter it in the Clan Tag field, and then log in to your account. A few of you have said you will join, so if you can confirm that you want to be in the clan, please tell me.
