I think I may have worked out a way to "implement" vehicles into FPSC.

If I model the front inside half of a hummer, make it a weapon, do tweaking (like sounds, animations, srcipting, movement etc) i think i may have mastered a vehicle. Could someone verify if this is possible?

The same theory has been thought of many times. But from what I recall I don't remember anyone actually testing it...GO FOR IT!

Yeah, you could do that however...

-the vehicle would be able to jump, crouch and strafe.
-there wouldn't be any vehicle physics (build up of speed, turning)
-changing weapons would ruin the "illusion"
-since when can vehicles fit through doors?
-you would have to do a lot of work with sounds, getting rid of footsteps and stuff

If you were a wizard at programming, you could edit the GAME.EXE and add in code that would allow vehicle scripts to be used. If you want vehicles in your game don't bother using FPSC. Learn Programming and use Dark Basic Pro.

i tested it, try yourself but it really doesnt look good; because if you look up or down the whole hummer would tilt and it just looks sooooooooo unrealistic. If there is a way you can get around that i would like to see your progress.

Ok, i just thought about all your suggestions. I could edit the scripts for the "player" and make jump, crouch, look down, look up, somehow implement speed ups, speed downs and turning.

Im gonna start working on it...as soon as ive finished my Doom Legacy work.

im a bit late but this caught my eye and i think its a good idea if you can pull it off, its kind of the same theory as the 3rd person game theory

I suggested this a long time ago.Unfortunately turning a vehicle into a weapon to drive it would not work well for the reasons stated above.

Yeah. It is hard. And I haven't done much on it. Waiting for my collegue to model the inside of a hummer.

No I just suggested the concept of making the vehicle into a weapon.
Unfortunately due to the above listed reasons it wouldn't work very well.

you could make it an entry and when you press a key it assotes the player. for the jumping find what key it is then make it so when you press it it will move down to delete thhe jump. then when you press "W" it moves forward. and the same concept with the jump as the straf.for the turning it could have an animation when pressing the key turning in the direction. and if you wanted it to shoot you could make it a chaictor and shoot or something.

how about making two weapons (rocket launcher and machine gun) like a walker cockpit and slowing down the walking speed. If you wanted you could even remove the jump key.

Somebody could just have a driving game. And then edit it. That would work! Just make sure there are no doors or small places. And MAKE them follow the road!. If I knew how to make a weapon I would try it. A First Person Driving Game

I guess visuals won't look good but you could always make a decal and run scripts to increase player speed.I'm not sure on the command list but if supported you could always limit view up down left right.As for turning the car well your on your own.

you could make it so off in the distance i makes 100 enems so it will slow down! then delete them when you let go!

how about like this..
Model of Hummer(big) with empty space inside it(hollow) with a hole.
now we place the start marker inside that hummer, and make that hummer walk into path. Character can shoot through a hole. Is this will work? i know the user cannot control the vehicle.. but will this work?
