John Romero talks about his time as an Indie, what he thinks about the indiebusiness, what his studio is currently working on, as well as whether he prefers pizza or hamburgers and a lot more

I forget the title but there was a cool book about John Romero and John Carmack and their early programming days with Id.

He wants to make a MMORPG, we should invite him round!

I suppose most game creators have big plans, wonder how that'll pan out.

If it's anything like Daikatana we're in for a world of pain...

I have vague plans for World Domination

On a sidenote, I just read wikipedia articles on both John Romero and on Daikatana, and I'm beginning to wonder why so many people idolize the man, as he's not exactly got a shining career after the last few years...

I read an article on the making of Daikatana, and to be honest, you can kind of see why it turned out how it did. There were a tremendous quantity of issues that occurred during its development, one of which was the lead coder quitting (which is a bloody big blow to any project)

EDIT: If I recall actually, they had 4 or 5 Lead coders quit

Which should tell you a bit about how good Romero must be as a manager...

His estimates for the finishing of the game were also off by about 2 years or so, which tells you what a programmer he must be

I've read the same article, it's actually very interesting, but you still get the idea that Romero is a pretty big ass:

Btw, is it just me, or is the CSS on GameSpot screwed up?
