Most people who have discussed websites with me know that I'm a bit of a Drupal "Fanboi" - not only do I use it for as part of all my work's new sites (Teaching Expertise (although technically a colleague did this), Sportbusiness and more to come), but also for personal ones.

My latest release is a site I did with a friend to promote an underground soulful rap artist. I really like his music personally, the lyrics are fantastic... However the lyrics do contain swearing - please do not listen if you're offended by "colourful" language. The site itself is harmless and has a few photo's of Kasha (this singer) plus a blog which is going to be kept up to date (I hope! ). They also have a My Space site (which autoplays the song Wildheart, which does contain swearing).

Anywho - the link:
http://kasha.therapper.co.uk

Just spreading the word

If anyone from the UK listens to Kiss100 late some evenings, you might have even heard it on that! Its also been played at a few clubs I think (in London, UK).

Yeah after the new drupal came out I found myself making another website too, finding I have the ability to use 3 MySQL databased, I decided to start another website off it (For different purposes, but at the moment there is enough there to announce or advertise (As the first one will hopefully benefit members here, the second tackles my other interests and isn't Drupal)

By the way, nice Drupal set out, the site looks pretty cool.

Can you recommend any good templates for 4.7.x?

And have you any experience of OG (organic groups)? I need to update my site to allow many different groups to "live together", with private and public sides to the groups. I'm guessing OG is the way to go, but I haven't tried it yet.

Good templates... Hmm Well someone has hacked the Garland theme to work in 4.7 (Garland is the new Drupal 5.0 theme). Tbh, Themes are one thing Drupal is lacking. The Drupal seems to be mostly coders - very few designers.

OG... Unfortunately, not yet. It looks a fantastic module though. I've met the guy who made it.

Another question, anyone using FCKeditor? I upgraded to 5.x and it failed miserably. So I restored 4.7, and now the editor won't run. It complains that many variables are undefined (javascript errors), including FCKlang etc.

whats with that hand gesture? I want to say some thing very rude about it, but I don't want to tarnish my pristine image.

BatVink - I use FCK Editor on that kasha site and on the works sites I do daily for the company I work for. Works like a dream in 4.7 (as long as you dont paste from MS Word directly into it... That screws things up in terms of neat code).

That hand gesture is just something my mate uses - I think its the Vivid Imagery logo...

FckEditor was working fine, now it doesn't run at all, I get a big blank space.

EDIT: decided to take a direct link down. Search Urban Dictionary for "shocker" to find out what I'm talking about.

@BatVink - maybe try re-downloading the module again? You could try disabling the module and deleting its row out of the system table (which control's if a module is installed or not). It might cause it to cleanly reinstall? Are you getting any PHP errors thrown in the error_log?

Manic - thanks for that! I've never heard of it before (probably a wise move, removing the link). You learn something new and slightly disturbing every day!

I've written this module:
http://drupal.org/project/variable_editor

and I tried it on one of my own sites when I broke some node access - it might help you cleanly un-install it as there might be some bad values in the system variables?!

Sounds like your system is denying cookies. Do you have your security settings too high? Or do you have some stupid Internet Protection software (like Norton)?

Or take the easy way out. Make a domain or subdomain on 'byethost.com', seems fairly reliable so far for me, they let you use 3 MySQL databases on a free account, and they let you install Drupal 5 quickly. Simply as making a Database and installing Drupal filling in all of the details and changing the host name in one of the closed menus of the drupal installation. Simple.
