Not sure if this belong's here, but I have no idea were else to place it but im trying to make new hud's and noticed the image file's are dds.... ?! would anyone happen to know of a free ware program I could use ?

I'm lookin' for one too... I found a .DDS to .TGA Convertor, but it doesn't work very well on mine at all.

I did!!! I read the readme.txt file, it said:"...Run install.reg, and convert..." BLAH BLAH BLAH!!! I did that, it said:" Do you wish to add the information in C:\BLAHBLAHBLAH! into the registry? I chose YES, then I clicked on SYSTEM in the DDSCONV folder, clicked on ddsconv.exe, and it was complaining about an infile and an outfile! And now I'm cross-eyed!

I use PSP 7.04 with the DDS Plugin and I have no Problems..

Go and get the Nvidia DDS file converter and put it in your Plugins folder(Even in a Freeware Program)...

As Always B3D....www.fnggames.com

Another helpful tool, in this direction, is a "Windows, dds thumbnail veiwer" which you may want to look up on Google. Always nice to see the dds files your going thru.

What about Gimp with the avalible pugin to load/save dds files just google 'gimp dds' should be at top

Whoa, slow down!!! Alright, which would be the BEST choice? I wouldn't need a DDS viewer, because I would EDIT the image!!!

just save as a tga and then change the extention from .tga to .dds
befor any one says im talking a load of **** im not because it has worked for me whne i had the same problem

1. Open google.
2. Search .dds converter.
3. click on the one with a url like: eliteforce.com (possibly first result)
4. Convert .dds to bmp or what you like.
5. Open in a picture editor like photoshop or... PAINT.
6. save and convert your creation as a .dds
7. Serve with ice cream.
8. Serving suggestion: Defrost.
