I might be buying my first computer, from a friend of a friend who needs some money. I wasn't interested until I heard a few details. nVidia 7900 video card, AMD dual core processor, 1 gig of RAM. And he only wants about $600. I will look more into it before I make my final decision. But I can't seem to find a good site that does those 3DMark video card comparisons. I want to see how all the video cards stack up against eachother with different resolutions and different games. Anyone know of a good site?

Just try searching for reviews on that card. Generally you'll get a site or 10 that benchmark it, then show it as a graph compared to others, etc.

A good place I've used in the past is http://www.overclockers.com.au/

Tomshardware as posted above, is awesome.

for the specs $600 is pretty damn good, that said i don't know the Processor speed or if that's a PCI-E or AGP8x card; but sound decent from just that little hardware.
Usually a price that cheap means there's a big catch

Okay, I have the computer now. It's a nVidia 7900 GT card, Athlon X2 64 bit processor (uncertain of the speed), 1 gig of RAM, blah blah. The motherboard is really nice though, it's an ASUS with the built in wireless and stuff. The reason he wanted to get rid of the computer was because he really needed money. The computer is worth about $1000 right now, and I am paying him $700. The graphics card is PCI-E, and I can do the SLI thing too, if I want to buy another card in the future.

There is sort of a catch. He had an illegal copy if Windows on it, so I need to get a legal copy, which I know a place that I can as a student for cheap. So no big deal. He just didn't want to go through the trouble and needed money more than the computer. So good for everyone. And I'm super happy to have my first very own computer, besides my laptop leased to me by the school. Now I just need to get an LCD screen...

Oh yeah, and about the site I was looking for. Tom's Hardware is just what I was looking for, thanks a lot. I just wanted to see how my card stacks up against the competition. I can't wait to see it run all my games!
