well, Ive got this problem with my laptop, when ever i take my laptop off the charger, all the drivers and that run slower, as though it is trying to save power.

Ok, Ive tried changing the bios settings at the start to full performance and Ive had a look numerous times at the battery power schemes.

I just got back to school and i don't want to loose grades because my laptop isn't running the way i want it to. thanks in advance

I work with computer's, and the IBM Think Pad is pre-programmed to save power when the power adapter is disconnected.

It does this because it want to give you longer time to save your work in case of a powerfailiure or etc.

"The IBM Think Pad has optimized preformance, when connected to a power adapter." - IBM Customers support

Use the "Access IBM" utility to get the latest updates.

Can't say I've noticed this problem on mine. Will check it out later when I get home from work.

Cool, but weird. Apparently I'm 850 miles from London, which means the cable went 600 miles off-course.

@dark heart: On my IBM laptop there's a picture of a battery on the start bar with the current power level, if you click on that you can change what happens when the laptop runs from mains/battery. Make sure its not set to slow down the cpu etc to save power.

Same. Corporate internet connections. Faster than a greased up monkey on the Super Death flume ride at Lunatic Flumes.

I'll have to try from my school's network tomorrow. Although, our wireless connection is pretty weak.
