Greetings. Remember that this is just an
illusion.
You are looking at a displayed HUD image, not actually through a lightbeam.
Transparency of the
beam is more pronounced against darker backgrounds, and almost nonexistent against a very light background. Both are realtive to each other.
Smitho's reached a pretty happy medium with his offering.
Transparency can be increased, but the illusion will probably lose its effect. Over a black background, it'll look more like a dying flashlight, and over a white background...well...you probably won't even be able to see the illusion at all.
I'm assuming that you don't have
Photoshop,
Paintshop Pro, or
Gimp skills. Tell you what, I'll whip up a more transparent version of the beam, and share it here.
If the
current level of opacity is considered
100%, what percentage would you like me to reduce it to?
