I really like this idea of racing down a pipe. Somehow it even looks like you're facing straight down in the screenshot, too.

Hi when the game starts the ships are holded by chains that
prevent them from falling.

This is a rendered image of the chain

Are you sure you dont wanna use my physics library?

It'll keep the ships moving realistically, and give it good collision!

Really all thats needed for physics is vehicle-collision (point the object to it's new sliding position, then position at it's new sliding position)... Other than that, just have the objects fall :/.

Looking good so far.

@ RUCCUS: Thanks.
The Real problem is detecting the new sliding position. It has to be a normal to the surface of the tube in that point. Is more complex however, to mantain the ship inside the tube even if it's detecting the normal since you can do always 360 degrees turn around.

Hi all,

we are beggining to do the architecture for the game.
The architecture is going to have all the description of the game.
All ship's options and secrets of the game. There is going to be
game balance and game-play analisis. The bad thing is that is going
to be in spanish and there are things that
are going to be secret until the final version.
but I will say some things about it, when posting.

The estatus is included now in the first post.

regards.

Hi,
we decided to polish a little the HUD, so we are working in it at the momment.

The architecture is advancing and we are defining the global aspects of the game like the menu for the game, wich options and things like that.

@ Game King: Sorry no screens yet, but soon .

@ all: I used the sparky Dll and now the ship, goes around all the pipe and goes straight to the end of the track!

I have a problem thought. With the normal. It chages every loop, so my ship jumps everywhere, when i want to point to it. If anyone knows about this, help will be apreciated.

I think i will post in sparky Dll thread.

Cheers.

Half of the problem of the normal is soluted.
There is one problem to solute though. We are working on it.

The ship finally go across the tube with the normal almost ever.

We are working in the trusters of the ships in this moment.
We are working also in another track, because the first track was to heavy in memory consumption. The new track is in a cavern.
We are also working to improve the HUD in this moment.

I will be updating.

Cheers.

Hello Guys

I'm with Alpha x on this game and I work mainly on character modeling and I'm responsible for the new track.

We're working hard on this game because it's a challenge as well as an opportunity to explore new areas that in other games genres have little or no influence. This project transform from a simple racing game inside a pipe to a really cool racing game with nice modes and features.

More of that soon. I will be presenting updates as well

@ Deathead: I'm glad it inspired you. Thanks!.

A big part of every game are textures. You can practice hard.
However, we have a long way to go too.

@Deathead

One advice I can give you about texturing is to work in stages. work on a piece of it and put it in the 3D object. if you don't like it you can make the changes. That will save you time because is better to start again when you had worked a little than start all over again.

just be patient and practice a lot

.... My first textures were pretty much crap
