I'm trying to make a very simple text adventure but i can't even do that without any help. here's what i have:

+ Code Snippet

sync on
sync rate 60
backdrop on
color backdrop rgb(0,0,0)

set text size 6
set text font "Arial"
text 0,0,"Ready to start?"

If returnkey()=1 then text 10,0,"Good!lol!"

no text shows up on the screen.

These lines are all used when working in 3D. Take them out - they shouldn't be in there for a text only adventure.

You should have a Set Display Mode or equivalent though.

Depending on what else is in your program, you might want to set the Ink colour to white and use set text size 16 instead of set text size 6 (I think you'll find size 6 is way too small).
