Although it only took 10 days to code the engine and a further month to add all the features and menus, it has taken over a month just to get this game on the internet without paying for space! Finally though, you can download it from http://www.madamattgames.o-f.com/pinballfootball/index.htm. Thanks to Graham King of http://www.apollo-design.com for hosting the file for me. Hope you like it after all that.

You're kidding.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I would like at least some feedback whether it's good or not

Yes, I clicked on your link and McAfee virus scan pops up and says there is a virus. I didn't even download anything. Just went to your page. You should get a virus scanner and check it out. I'm not sure what virus and I don't plan to go back to see what it was.
I can't give feedback because the page itself has a virus.

No one click on that link!

The page has a virus?
Ok, I'll give you the information here.
Controls are:

Z - Player 1 Left Flipper
X - Player 1 Right Flipper
N - Player 2 Left Flipper
M - Player 2 Right Flipper
Space - Nudge Table
P - Pause
Numbers(Top of keyboard, not keypad) - Record Highlight (in numbered slot)

Download from http://www.apollo-design.com/pinball.zip

It must be a problem with DreamWeaver. A few weeks ago I opened it up and DreamWeaver gave me an error message. The game is clean.

You better clean it out... An check your computer. If you have ever been to your site, which I think it is very unlikely that you haven't, you have it. I have no idea what virus it is or if its dangerous.

I have been to your site before. It did not give me a virus last time. It must have been something recent.

Firstly, I do not believe it is a virus. I believe it is a corrupt html file. Your McAfee Virus Scan would be designed to alert you of corrupt files. I created the site on DreamWeaver and it has a lot of DreamWeaver template code in it. A few weeks ago I started up DreamWeaver and it gave me an error message and closed down. It has not worked since. Sometimes when I go on my site I get a message from Internet Explorer saying there are errors on the page which may prevent it from being shown correctly blah blah blah etc. I am certain I do not have a virus on it as I have the same problem of that corrupt file on the computer it was made on, which has never been connected to the internet or to a network. In fact, the only input it has had is from commercial CDs so it is impossible to have a virus on it.

Secondly, the site has been taken offline. I will build a new one with notepad when I have time, but now the information required to play the game is on this topic so can you please get back to downloading, testing and rating the game?

Ok, sorry for bugging you about it. I just get very nervous when I think I got a virus. Wouldn't it know whether it was corrupt or infected? It told me I had a virus, not corrupt.
I might download it later, but I am very hesitant. Sorry again

There is definitely no problem with the Pinball Football file. I found something suspicious about "VBScript" or something on the html files so there may have been something dodgy there but I know enough html now to make a new site with notepad and then I won't get that problem. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with the file itself. I tried it. It's pretty cool, but theres something wrong with the phisics. The ball kept rolling back down a hill that wasn't there. :-s Play isn't very adictive though

The table slopes up towards the middle. I based it on a Christmas present, and I wanted it exactly the same. There is a slope of only 1.5 degrees so you won't notice it, but the ball still rolls down. If the slope was any bigger you wouldn't be able to get the ball out of your half.

Physics are definately suspect. Ball bounces far too much and it is nigh on impossible to flip it to the other side as the ball is reacting to the slope as if it was mount everest!

Yeah the slope is way to big. It should be more like .5 or something.

The ball bounces because it is pinball. The ball is supposed to bounce, the surfaces are elastic. The slope is supposed to be challenging, but I really should have explained the rules fully. One of your players has to have touched the ball since your last goal for it to count if it goes in, so if you can't get the ball out of your half you will only lose 1 goal (since you have to get the ball out of your half for the other team's players to touch it). Actually, I don't find the slope to be too hard, I can normally get it within 5 tries, it is like any pinball game, it can be hard at first, but once you get used to it, it gets a lot easier. Also it is important to get the timing right so the ball hits the flipper while it is still moving.

Does anyone have anything else to say?
I am making another version so I would like to know what the program's main weaknesses are.
