I don't have an LCD with dead pixels, but I came across this application that maybe someone might want to try out. No idea how effective it is, so if anyone wants to give it a shot and report back here.

lol, thanks for trying , i tried varying the delay but all it gave me was a headache

[edit] interestingly enough... the dead pixel now looks smaller (a pixel obviously can't get smaller, but maybe it's just not as bright green anymore)

maybe it did work and i just needed to do it longer

I have a stuck pixel on my laptop screen which comes and goes. I've used a few programs like this, but they don't seem to work.

Sounds like yours isn't dead, just stuck.

We'd rather have it black than green, so keep working it.

Yeah, there is a difference between stuck and dead pixels. I was under the assumption that a dead pixel can never be revived, but a stuck pixel can be brought back by one of these programs with the flashy screen or by "massaging" the lcd. However, my stuck green pixel is on my projector lcd. I don't feel like leaving a epileptic video playing on the projector screen, and I don't feel like disassembling my projector.

theres a different method to removing stuck pixels. you need to press down on it with the blunt side of your finger nail, and wipe around vigerously to let the liquid flow in from surrounding pixels.

With those flashing pixel-fixers, it sometimes requires up to 3 days of running to fix it (which is perfectly harmless for the rest of the monitor, btw).

And, the massaging part has to be done with great care, if you press too hard while the screen is turning on, you can actually damage more pixels. You just need enough to fix the flow, but not so much to squish all the pixels in the area

My old 15'' TFT had a stuck pixel, so I rustled up a little proggie like Heartbones (except simpler, just a random but bright colour). It fixed it over night, you just have to give your monitor a chance at fixing - plenty time and patience. Using DBPro is actually quite good for this, make it a windowed app, and size the window to just the affected area like an elastoplast. Ensuring your monitor stays on is a pain, so disable screensavers and powersave options too.

Now I just need one for my DS - one stuck pixel, always green, not sure of the best way to fix DS pixels - probably a little homebrew variant of this.

Van, Stuck Pixel Fixer.

You need to be able to run homebrew on your DS (or at least have a GBA flash cart, since it's only a GBA app)
