A new creature I've been fiddling with.

The weapon in the vid is a WIP pulse-rifle. Got it as a vweap on the enemy too, with custom flash... notice how the weapon makes shockwaves on the creature.

Here's some pics of the badboy up close...

and here's a litttle video. [sorry about the sound]

Looks great! I like the weapon and shockwaves...

Just curious: does the name "Magus Carnivorum" mean anything?

More awesome work,Butters.

Wow that is amazing, will you be releasing this? I'm not asking if it will be free, if it comes in a pack or whatever i'll buy it.

good work again butters, you should make a texture of him covered in peanut butter.

good stuff once again,
Tyrano

Magnus Carnivorum means "Great Meat Eater"

Thanks for the comments guys.

THe creature will either be free, or somewhere around $1 - $2.

I just recently invested in milkshape (essential for all maya users!), and so yes, I will get it rigged to an FPSC biped too so it can wield weapons.

As you can see from the screenies, the texture isn't quite right, with some strething on his torso and shoulderpads, but what with the anim deform its super hard to get that looking right anyway.

The gun is still WIP, and I'll update the texture at a later date.

Thanks for your comments everyone, I will update this later today when I have finished the rigging.

Again thanks for the interest, will be out soon

thanks man, I've been working really hard on my animation, followed bond1s hint about bracketing animations, and this had made my anims much smoother... Cheers bond.

Ok, time wise it was weird. I made the leg as a bit anatomical practice, and it came out really well. The arms and head came next, and again I surprised myself with how fast I got them done. Finally I hashed up a torso (the torso/pelvis is the bit I like least).
It was crazy though, total time for all that was about 2 hours.

I'm getting really good a UV mapping in Maya (ok so the stretching on the models shoulders/chest is more down to me not bothering than lack of skills). UV mapping time 45mins

Then I rigged it with my fat boy biped and tweaked the animations for attacking and walking so they looked right, a bit of knee joint bending and key frame adjustment was all that was needed.. probably about 30mins.

texturing took a few hours, to get the original green skin done.. the balck version is just the green skin filtered.

total build time: 5 hours ish.

to everyone else, thankyu for your comments. I'll be updating the model today(i'm just gonna finish this and get started.) This mesh is gonna be the first that I try and Rig in Milkshape!

Get back to you guys soon with the results.!
