FPS Classic

The idea of this game is just to be a really fun multiplayer shooting game. The main feature of it is that it will support many different game types including all the classics such as CTF, Deathmatch, and Team Deathmatch, as well as many other reall great ones. Which are listed on the games forum, but you will need to register to view it. http://allthefilms.hopto.org/fpsclassic/Home/tabid/58/Default.aspx

Here is a screenshot of what it looks like so far:

It's not too impresive but it's something, and we are really working on the engine and not so much the looks right now. That's why I made the screenshot show that multiplayer works, and I demonstrated a player being made admin, and you can clearly see a bullet hole on bottom of screen.

=complete
=still needs to be done
=under construction

PROGRESS:
MENU:
read and write settings from config file
send data to game .exe's via command line

player IP's are stored in a file upon being banned. When an admin is created, the creator can specify if it is permanent or temporary, and if so IP is stored.
chat messages sent and scroll properly
gameType specific messages, ex: player scores, flag taken, ect...

3D ENGINE
sparkys collisions
player jumping/ducking
loading, placement, and firing of guns.

We need all the help we can get so if anyone thinks they can contribute in anyway, please post here. Any contributions will not be forgotten.

I'm going to get DarkBASIC Pro next month. So I'm trying to look at all the neat stuff it can do. So far I'm very impressed. Looks nice and good luck with the project.

Uhhhhhhh.... I forgot

Very cool. Are you using a lobby method or a join and play method for connecting?

Well, I've always liked the lobby method best in games. However at this point and probably the first release will be join and play. We'll see how things go, but I would like a lobby, and a server list so players don't need to type IP's. The problem is not the coding, but getting a permanent server.
