The Manifesto:
Very few may not remember Blitz/Dark Basic war of '63, it was a bloodied battle and as a forum we fought hard and I am proud to say chaps, we won. We lost many brave men and women, but their lives are not in vain and I am sure fellow veterans here mourn their losses. Many youngsters here may take for granted what we have now, but there may come again a time where you must defend all that you stand for in game creation software.
What kind of president do you want to back you when that day inevitably comes? A man who's so terrible at making decisions that he can't even decide on a username? Or somebody who names himself after a city that fell after the Battle of Jericho? Does defeat rise your confidence in a candidate? Now, I have nothing ill to say about Dark Frager, yes, that is correct, I have spelt his name how he prefers it. Alas, the man is unable to spell, because 'fragger' has two G's in it. Now, why would we need to worry about grammar Nazism here? It could mean all the difference in the world. When it finally comes to battle and he makes the decision to send out 'Fraggers' to the battlefield (which is inevitable, fraggers are an all important asset to winning over a battle - play Call of Duty or Battlefield and you'll know what I mean), instead of fraggers we get a bunch of transpersonal psychologists (after Robert Frager, President of the Association for Transpersonal Psychology).
Now, in the event that I am disputed on Dark Frager's understanding of English spelling. Consider this, do you want a Dark Psychologist running these forums? Robert Frager's evil twin? What madness would ensue then? Yes, I know, you like madness, but I am talking about the bad kind. The manic laughter using newbies for experiments. Yes, I know, I have my lab of crackpot scientists using newbies for experiments (I wish to weaponise them) but I have acquired them from OTHER forums. Why would somebody on the Dark side of the force care where they get their specimens from? Have you seen how the Sith treat their own kind? I on the other hand, take care of my minions. With me as president, nothing like
this will ever happen.
Then, yes, there's Seppuku, the suicidal one. I have had some grief over this. "Why are you such a good candidate Mr Suicide, eh? Eh?" (He was not Canadian). It's a testament of my commitment to you. Seppuku is ritualistic suicide, it is what a Samurai does when he has been dishonoured. Shall I ever betray my honour as president, that is right, I will have to live by the Samurai code and to be frank, I quite like living, its grown on me over the years.
Whilst we have a war coming, my administration is tolerant and open minded. Understand, all are our brothers, regardless of their enginality.
So understand what kind of man you'd be voting for as president. But what does a vote for Seppuku mean for you?
-No more TGC hosepipe bans. Whilst it may be physically impossible to operate a hosepipe through the forums, but I still think it's ridiculous the previous administration instigated the hosepipe ban.
-A mind control device to boost forum activity. That's right, once I've finished building it, it'll be easy to boost forum activity. But I do have a back up plan - more community based challenges.
-I will finally build that shark pit we've always needed
-Free minion training camps. If we lack the budget, I'll get back to working on tutorials for my faithful voters with 3D Art & DBP/DGS in mind. Maybe AppGameKit if I ever buy it.
-I will use TGC funds to build a giant mech suit. One must always be prepared for Godzilla. The Japanese warned us in the 50's and nothing has been done about it.
-I support freedom of press. That's right, I'll work on contributing to 'Latest News', if my contributions are deemed worthy by the almighty TGC gods.
-I will ensure that changelings no longer pose a threat to our younger members Apparently changelings are allergic to fire.
[edit]
Of course, I could have written a serious manifesto, but it wouldn't really be in good spirit. If you're more interested in seriousness:
-I wanna get some more tutorials out there.
-I wanna get more community compos going and find ways of
encouraging people to get involved (3D Comp has lasted for a long time)
-I wanna get more contributions over to 'Latest News' (from myself
and users), TGC accept user submissions like they did with the
newsletter. It might attract readers over to the forum,
particularly if there's more for them here and they feel welcomed
by the community. With this I might even help people with notes on
article writer (as I'm a writer)
-I don't have much of an opinion on conventions, I would like to go
to one, I think it's a case of who wants to run one and if they
can get the right amount of interest. I think the reason we don't
get them any more is due to lack of interest and they're usually
held in the UK.
