No its just we dont matter, and never have in the decision of electing our president. It started with the electoral college when it was hard to actually get all the voting counts into realistic figures (in the 18th and 19th century), now we need change, but change is hard to come by when you have a centralized government like ours. It basically is a figure to show how much we support the leaders, but never once in US history since the conception of the electoral vote has the popular vote over shadowed it in the election process.
@Why are you all talking about the electoral system when you know it has almost no relevance to how bush got in? :
Err the millions of votes from the popular vote actually dont really affect it at all. I never got why this was considered an issue when it wouldnt have mattered.
And every president in US history has been in some way connected to a high up family, its how party politics works tool. You wont get into office unless you have money, or overwhelming support. Money is the main solution, but some people have gotten in by being a party extremist who everyone supports on one side.
Really you need to get passed Grade 10 Honors US history to know about half this stuff, the way the education system works is that the majority average doesnt know about the system, while the smaller above average side does, but it wont make a difference because we arent the majority... (This works effectively for each party to draw more tools who dont know how the system works, while the smaller portion of society goes third party, but cant make a difference) A very sad cycle indeed.
