You could always hold a nice safe competition with TGC only prizes, so that you know the winners will definately recieve them A competition later on with DBPX10 as a prize would be awesome

I'm glad to hear this is almost sorted out.

I would seriously love a compo. Compos are great, and this is the only one I haven't liked. I think there was too much time and too much put on making pro graphics, as well as too much freedom in what kind of game to make. And of course for the next ones secure the prizes first. I think the graphic emphasis was the biggest problem, because many here on the forums are not the most artistically gifted, or see graphics as low priority.

Also, for the next compo THERE REALLY NEED TO BE DOWNLOADS AND RATINGS FOR EACH GAME. Really, just do what you did with the other compos, and think of something new and interesting for them to be about. Really, the past compos were amazing.

So it's known, I'm up for any compo, assuming it doesn't have to be first person. I'd love to make a 3rd person shooter, a platformer, a strategy game, a retro game, a brawler, another puzzle game, almost anything. I'd be really happy if I could use it as motivation to improve my current game engine. The only thing is I'd want DBC 2.0 entrees to be allowed. There's no reason not to, especially since they work on vista. Please, PLEASE have another compo.

Lol if they have another compo it should be something that makes people try something new or different ie like 2d....Turn based...sports games just something other than 'it must contain a main character' kind of vaugeness.

Would just be nice to see, and of course I will be trying to get some composer work in at the same time

Glad to see people will finally get there prizes, and I agree with the comments so far, just run a TGC competitions with all prizes from TGC would still be worth it.

Guys, we can't post one thousand post like that, we should do another post on geek culture with we want to do ask who want to have a new compo.

This thread has been running since I came BACK to TGC!!!

Glad to know that it might draw to a close at last, though.

Quote: "Whats the exact point of the list? The Boycott lists were to pressurize TGC into sorting out something that was damaging to the community and really did need sorting out to make things right. Here, you're just pressurizing TGC to do something that could make things less convenient on their end if they are busy with other stuff.

I don't see the need to demand one now as with time, TGC shall decide when it is best for them to organize one, they have only just sorted out this mess. "

Apparently you missed the post where Rick mentioned they might no longer have compos because of how messed up this one got. The point is to show people actually want another one. It has nothing to do with pressuring them to do it early. And what kind of problem do you have with other people expressing their want for a compo? Are you just certain that if no one says anything, the TGC will just be able to assume that people MUST want another compo, after so many said they didn't want one because this one didn't go well? The whole point here is to show there IS interest, because the TGC are not mind readers. Frankly it's a whole lot more productive than a boycott list, which almost no one on it would have used the product they were boycotting in the first place. I honestly don't think the boycott list did anything but put a lot of people on edge. Just keeping this thread active would have been enough.

@KeoC, I suppose you like feeling important, putting your name at the top of the list like that? I assume you mean that you REALLY want another compo, and that's why you did it. Not a big deal, just mentioning I laughed when I saw that.

Edit: THE POINT OF THIS LIST IS TO SAY THERE IS INTEREST IN ANOTHER COMPO, NOT A DEMAND TO HAVE ONE RIGHT NOW.

Let us not forget that this issue still hasn't been sorted, but after it is, I would like to see more compos (provided the prizes are secured prior to the contest).

Ah, I misunderstood the point of the list. Yeah, I thought it was a desire for an immediate competition, seeing as its been a year since nVidia and these things are usually annual. No I haven't a problem if its just support to give TGC the confidence to have another competition at any point, in fact I said I would find it good if they did one on the previous page.

Sorry for that...

I would like to see more competitions, too!

Even if I don't enter, I still love to play the demos that come out of them, and like to see all the hard work and potential people show.

INH, your baiting people here, trying to get some sort of reaction - everytime Rick posts an update your right there with the 'You have some explaining to do' and 'I'll believe it when I see it'.

If you insist on posting reactionary comments like that then I will react. Even when the issues are close to being resolved you still feel the need to make these less than helpful posts.

I have removed the noob slap as it was probably excessive, please try and be positive here though for the sake of people hoping to get their prizes soon.
