Hi,

I had a random thought, when I was waiting for our crap shower to actually work. What if the universe was made using DarkBASIC Pro!
It's a weird thought, but imagine!

e.g.

If cleanseall = true then cleanse_universe()

Cheers,
Bozzy

then we'd have to congradulate the person who made this world for the first MMO in DBP

I'd give it a rating of D-
+character interaction
+many professions
-no originality
-to many bugs
-crappy abilities
-once you create a character, your stuck with it till death

I'm sorry, but universe is just a crappy game, and would not suggest it to anyone. Maybe when they release a patch to fix the major issues, I'll try it again...but for now, I'm sticking to "Day Dreaming".

I can picture it now, a temple filled with people worshipping Lee Bamber and the rest of the TGC staff for creating the program that 'created the world'.

@ Moondog

Well you don't really create the character yourself, but the lvl 33 accountant and lvl 35 lawyer that acts plays the role of tutors to learn you how things are done in this MMO. Often these socalled "parents" can boost your character, but sometimes they just slow you down. That's what makes this MMO great, the flexibility.

I gave this some thought, but then I walked around the block a few times and came to the conclusion that it's impossible, because I didn't get stuck in mid-air anywhere (that's an FPSC joke, btw )

But on the flipside, I've been saying for years and years now, since around 2000 actually, that god is a 10-year old girl playing Sims. Sims 2 had to come out and mess with my vision but eh, I stand by my claims! But Sims 2 had an interesting feature where your Sim could play the Sims, so if you think about it... someone real is playing the sims right now, and we're playing the sims, and our sims are playing the sims, and their sims are playing the sims...

Yes, I know... I just blew your mind. I get that a lot lol

They'd be intergalatic war over who is the greatest, the two biggest empires being those who love Lee and then those who love Rich...and wannabes like me leading a pack of worshipping rats...
Matt, dare I say it, I totally agree with you...It wasn't my fault I killed you, I had no control!

it would be inposable becose everything would be lo poly! it isant.
althow i guss that if computers wore powerfal enugh then you could make a program that modals using fundimental particals and simple laws of phisics.

from my own experiance the univerce seems to be driven by what people are thincing, old scince fiction is becoming true. if this is corect then the end of the univerce and the future of the human race is completly in there hands.

learn blender, you will never regret it.

I feel that the computer running the universe v1.0 has:

If the universe were made with DarkBasic, then this forum would be our direct link to God, and he'd be ignoring our requests exactly the same as he already does. Thanks 'Lee'.

Also, if it were, the universe would crash as soon as DirectX got upgraded. Haha, existence.

If it crashed, would we even know? I think we would all be on "pause", trough the recompile and continue on our marry ways without sensing a thing afterwards.

Edit. or perhaps we would "fly back" to the last character save (sleep), and start the day over again without remembering that we have been trough that already.......could explain the deja-vu feeling.

Not if you aquire the special "surgery" pack!

It makes sense though. You ever got in trouble for something you didn't do? That's the compiler coming up with the wrong line number!

All mathematics would have rounding errors 1.000000456 in it : and no-one would ever use the full stop in sentences : instead everything would be written on one looong wrap around line only seperated by : hehehehe

Come to think of it, having a TGC MMO would be really cool. I know DarkTOPIA was an attempt, but it'd still be cool. The idea comes around like once a year but we really should get some of the more experienced coders around here and make the game. Thered be TGC headquarters (like the forums, in a huge pyramid, on a mountain, with lightning...) and... yeah, itd be pretty sweet.

Let's hope the programmer of our real world MMO didn't use this in his code:

I would help with the "philosophical" side of coding!
And some other stuff as well, like making a small house situated on the outskirts of FPSC town inhabited by small cats wearing suits and bowties, selling ancient egyptian stopwatches for 25 DBP... DarkBASIC Pounds!

And thats an insight into how my mind thinks!

Edit:

The world is not made in darkbasic. If it was, time would be going in reverse it would be sync rate -1000. My guess is there just wouldnt be enough ram.

How do we know that this existence, isn't low poly. Do the characters in our games see themselves as low poly, or do they see themselves as just being normal and their environment as normal.

As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

As I use to say as a mere pup, how do we know that we are real, how do we know that we are not just part of another persons dream. How could we know that we are not a computer game sim being played by some acne faced nerd without a social life living in his mothers basement?

Just remember George Bush is president of the United States, doesn't that sound like a coding glitch to you?

Then I would never use DBPro again. Some bug here or there got idiots in the government!

Plus, that would mean that Microsoft was god! Or maybe the new version of DBpro that was not used to make our universe only ran in direct X, while the one God used to create the earth used .PAR.

Why didn't God release his version of DBPro? Ours sucks in all fields!

Code in DBPro for the universe:

Dang, I want God's version.

The Person99 awards go to: 1. Jack the Ripper for hardest crime scenes. 2. Peter Petrelli for most powers. 3. Superman for longest flight. 4. "The Doctor" for best time travel machine.

The universe is expanding -> DB upgrade packs

Expands at an accelerating rate -> CPU and moore's law

Furthest objects in space take 13 billion years for the light to reach us -> poor BUS speeds

Maybe we're just stuck in the Matrix?

That would explain why there are so many queues everywhere!

Its that damn Z-fighting issue again! Will god ever set his camera ranges to reasonable amounts? I mean is it really necessary for him to see the whole of earth at once?
