I never got into Malcolm in the Middle. I've watched it a few times and I do like it, but I've never really followed it.

I've never watched Party of Five, but I guess I should take that as a compliment. Did the guy score lots of hot girls on the show?

Yes he did. He was the boyfriend of Jennifer Love Hewitt's character, Sarah, for the first couple of seasons!!!

Her nickname is Jennifer Love Huge-Ti..

I remember Wonder Years, Malcolm always seemed like it was inspired by it, only a lot funnier. The guy from Malcolm is trying to become a race driver, a bad and very moody one from what I've seen, but it's good to know he won't be rammed down our throats in a series of horrific teen movies.

And what's with all these sitcom kids who grow up with the same face? We have a few that had the "stay young" disease (Gary Coleman, dude from Webster), but it seems to afflict most of them. The main kid from Malcolm still looks 15 but is like 25 or something.

In the foreign countries in EPCOT they do. And most of the restaurants. Spent some time in Germany & Norway, which looks very similar to Wolf's pic (Germany that is). Hard to tell though.

Yep. The Beirgarten in Germany (Epcot) is where that photo was taken. I was drinking a most awesome beer called Franziskaner. I had two of those 1 litre mugs then stopped in England on the way out of the park for a Stella Artois. I have been wanting to buy a case of Fraziskaner since I have returned from Disney, but haven't found it anywhere local yet. Stella was my favorite until I tried that beautiful Franziskaner. Mmmmmm.....

I knew I had a beer pic somewhere:

Here is one of my wife and I when we were dating:

My personal favorite has to be Blue Moon with an orange, it's a good beer. Widmer Brothers is pretty good too.

Dude. Are you that sensitive? A lot of people that are threatened by things like that are because they aren't too comfortable with themselves. But that is a subject of an entirely different topic.

Blue Moon is definately one of my favorites. I'll get that if it is available and they don't have any good imports. I don't believe that I have ever tried Widmer Brothers.

Yep, I have a couple of local tinnies in the fridge and half a bottle of Bacardi. It's a bit colder today (about 24c), but nice and sunny and the sea looks great. Beach is tempting.... so is paying the bills annoyingly...

Oh, and I forgot to mention that today is my "Friday" as I don't actually work on a friday Always a good excuse to have a few and float your back teeth

Na way man. I used to drink nothing else but once I got seriously drunk I used to ask for the blackcurrent. Apparently vimto is nice too with it. Annoyingly my barman who used to draw a 4 leaf clover in the head used to draw something quite different when I ordered with black. Basically you keep it in your pants (English pants not American pantaloon effort, although that is actually more correct...)....

Plus you had to ave 10 pints withat going to relieve your floating teeth like. Then you could have ya black. Yer panzy...

Then move to Britain. Once you reach 18 then no worries. And no-one really cares (apart from the police) for a few years younger too. Esp if you are a bird (my sister got into night clubs and got alcohol from about 13 years old). Or move to france where they practically bathe in the stuff. Or Russia. I heard once a russian who was designated an alcoholic was advised by his doctor to drink beer instead, as it was laughed at as an alcohol, and hell even kids drank it! Dunno if totally true, but would be great if it was Apart from the obvious downsides. I'll get me slippers... (again, too much fast show repeats)

Everytime Dazzag posts, I look around my lowly dismal home office, and outside at the concrete jungle in front of my home, and silently weep myself to sleep. Does this happen to anyone else, or is it just me?

Me? Jealous? Noooooo.

Hey, it shows programming for a living does work. Plus it's not as if I've retired or anything. I still have to work. A lot..... Plus your location says California where most most of us would love to live (not easy without relatives these days). And Matt is in NY. I know loads of people who would love to live there. And Ben.... France.... Well, Paris was ok when I went there.....

California is ok I guess. I live up in the High Desert, about a mile high. I went for a 2 mile run on lunch today and nearly hacked up a lung! The cost of living here is attrocious, I don't think it is justifiable. I would much rather be beach-front

Well, technically I live in Binghamton New York, a short drive from NYC (a great way to kill an afternoon), but... millions of people screaming at each other, taxis ready to run over your feet at the drop of a hat, gangs everywhere you look . Or Cyprus, living in the lap of luxury with a beautiful ocean just in view, without boats and slimy needle-infested water filling the scene (I'm looking at you, Coney Island!), and gorgeous scantilly-clad women eveywhere you look, none of whom are using five gallons of hairspray, and none who physically weigh more than their 2-piece bathing suit should be able to support and end up defying the laws of physics with each thunderous step they crush the beach with. Hmm... Cyprus or New York, Cyprus or New York . Tough call!

Oh well you live in Susanville, like you said in the other thread, so I'd assume it's a nice place there. But I hate the desert I live in California. Besides the hot and humid summer weather, the only thing great here is the winter. But when winters about ended, it's 32 degrees in the morning, and reaches from 90 to 100 degrees in the afternoon.

That sucks.

What's winter in California--- a light drizzle? I hear the schools close down in Cali when it rains.

Went to Disneyland one year in May and found everyone wearing sweaters and jackets. To me it was quite warm and I was quite amused by that.

Count your blessings. Go to the UK and watch tax and unemployed people eat you up... When I was looking at Florida a while back it was unbelievable how cheap the houses were. About £100k ($200k) for like 4-5 bedrooms, a huge covered pool, and like multiples of the space I've ever had. Ok, so they are normally made out of wood, but hey... Put it this way my house (nowhere near as nice) was worth more than double that at the time and made about £100k profit in the 6 years I owned it. Nice. Although I would be totally ****ed if I was starting again from scratch. Decently paid programming job or not (well I say that, I only started on a stupid £10k back in 1995 and that was rubbish for CS grads even then).

Depends. I grew up in the middle of nowhere and appreciate the more laid back life (plus I grew up on a small island). On the other hand I lived for the last decade and a bit near London, which is a stupid amount of people in a small place (and you get totally used to the advantages). Plus I love tall buildings. Total sucker. And you can't beat America for that one (well I suppose places like Hong Kong and Tokyo are pretty good...). Dubai was probably the closest for that one.

Of course the beach comment is a good one. Winter here was like (a really good) spring for me. While everyone was wearing scarves and gloves I was in a T-shirt and shorts One advantage of growing up in the UK. Ok, so it almost killed me in Dubai (50c some days; we accidentally melted the dashboard once), but at least I can enjoy the "colder" weather.

Saying all that though, my first choices were America (c'mon, I'm a programmer), Canada (I like icy mountains too; Snowdonia helped) and Australia (they love programmers there according to my old boss). Yep, spot the pattern for the English speaking Welshboy

America was out because you practically have to go through the 5 pits of hell to get a chance of getting in without relatives there these days (Patagonia welshboy relatives don't count. Stupid relatives...). Canada was out because I was told in no uncertain terms that it was too cold (I come from the UK, but she doesn't...). And Australia was just too far from my family (although everyone I care about has moved to Cyprus now, and we could have all moved anywhere really). Cyprus was a good backup and is working out ok so far.
