I'm working on a new model pack.
But you all know that i'm not a pro. So that's why i need your help guys.
You have to give comment on my models. Maybe the texture is to ugly ?
Size to big or maybe to small ? Say it all !
With your comments you can help me create a good model pack !
For eath helper i'm going to give a special model pack , but a bit later.
I'm hoping you guys can help me a hand ! Anyways that's for comments !

If all your other models are up to this standard you're suddenly going to get a whole lot of devoted followers! lol

Looks great! Any details of what other models will be in the pack? Or are you letting us non-talented folk decide?

Here is my honest opinion.

The trees look to fake. They look photoshopped right out of a picture. I think you should blur it some and figure out how to make it less picture - ish.

The crane is actually really good.

The texture on the reactor looks a bit stretched a low-res, but good model though.

The textures on the buildings don't look so good. Did you take it from a picture or make it on the computer? Because from the picture it doesn't look so swell.

Are you going for like a Chernobyl - themed pack?

Glad to hear you like it !

trees : yes , they are photo edited and i know they looking ugly
but they don't belong in the pack. I need to find some natures tutorials to make some good ones.

Nuclear station : it's one model , that's why it's low quality. The point of it is that you have to place it far away from the player.
For a nice 3d background effect. But also they don't belong in the pack.

Guys , that you very muth for your great help ! Now i know where i need to look next time and keep my eye on little things.
Your help meen a lot , now i'm going to make a new model.

PS : Yes , i'm aming to create Chernobyl theme pack but i need a lot of work.

Cya soon , Oleg.

Cool! I was considering making a Chernobyl themed pack. Then decided against it.

Check out this website for pictures of real present day Chernobyl. Also, check out S.T.A.L.K.E.R. :Shadow of Chernobyl for inspiration.

Looking at the above resources gave me lots of inspiration for my game, so I would check them out.

Oleg, I like the textures on the crane quite a bit but I think you should reference it a bit more. Some things like the counterballance weights don't lok right and there appears to be no way for the arm to rotate side to side. I really like the use of alpha on that one.

Thanks ! i know what you mean about counterballance , i have to make his tale longer(i think).
But what do you mean with reference ?

I don't think it really needs to be longer. It's just that the weights on the back look sort of haphazzarldy stacked. I think they're usually linked together with some kind of cabling system so that they can move about to adjust for different weight loads being hoisted by the crane. I could be wrong though but it's what I seem to remember from watching large construction sites.

By reference, I just mean photo/blueprint reference to help in model accuracy. It looks like a typical (innaccurate) video game model to me which I suppose is fine but I think you have the skills to do something really great.

OLEG, the textures look great. I just love them

If I look at my models, for example the gallows model, the texture's much more complex.
Ok, this fact is also linked to the many groups I used...
But your texture is much better than mine.

That's the gallows texture.

Thanks !
I know what you mean , you give eath of your surface a uvmap.
I only paint them ones, for example in my model i used 8 wood planks.
Eath of the planks got the same texture.
That save a lot of work , and you don't notice it on the model.
Cause you flip it or roatate it.

I hope you get my point
btw : you got a cool site..
EDIT:

Well i think i goin to model they separate , thanks for helping !

I don't uvmap my textures.
For my gallows texture I took aa wood and a rope image, cut off parts from them and pasted them in my texture, then added details like nails and some stain, adjusted contrast and luminosity and finally I got my texture.
And it isn't bump mapped.

btw: thanks that you like it

The works looking excellent Oleg. Some very nice urban pieces there. Nice use of transparencies to make the structural elements in the cranes base and jib. I think I'd allow the wires on the telephone poles to droop a little, but other then that the models are looking nice.

Great work and keep it up

@Loc ; Thank you for your nice comment , about the wires i was thinking to stay very low poly on this one.
They are less then 180 now with wires afcourse. But do you have any suggestion to make it look real? and stay low poly ..
I really appreciate your option.

Why not take a page from your crane? right now you have at least triangles right? As the wires? If not squares?

I'd make up two long 2 sided planes. Mirror one plane, and attach it to the other. Now you have a 2-sided plane that can viewed from any either angle.

Paint your drooping wires on those sections. Maybe raise them up higher then in my pictures and place the isolated connector deal thats on top of the cross members in the image as well. This came out at 128 poly/tri without even trying.

But what about the down view ? if the player standing 90° and looks up.
He will notice that the wires are not " 3d " .

Hi all !

I was very busy last week...but i stil find some time to work on my model pack.
It's a truck , a old russia style from ZIL family.
I also made a sign of nuclear warning. In this pack will be a lot of signs maybe 20-30...i dunno
I hope you like them and about the truck it's still a wip of texture. I do have to ad more details to it.

Anyways thanks for commenting !
