You can only enter 1 entry!

You cannot enter something that you have released before the perimiters of the comp time.
All media that enters this comp will be put in a free community pack. So don't post something your ganna want to sell later.

This Months Theme is:

really low poly modeling. This is a test of how well you can model and map. You can make whatever you want as long as it has less than 100 polys (after triangulated). And uses no bigger than a 256 X 256 map. This is a tough comp as you need to make the least lag while still keeping it look good.

The winner cannot compete in next months comp; but chooses the next theme. The winner can be one of the next comps judge too.

Judges cannot compete; but can compete in the next month if they wish.

This months judges are:
-Tyrano
-Oleg
-Eldest Dragon
-Trinity Pictures
-Father Tree

1) Polys (1 mark for every 10 under 100)
2) Technical Merit (use of the polys)
3) Artistic Merit (how good and well mapped the texture is)
4) Originality

Prizes:
there will hopefully be prizes for the 3 best entries. 1st place chooses any prize 1st. 2nd place choose on of the other prizes. 3rd place chooses the a prize out of whats left.

-FPSC model pack of your choice (Courtesy of Rick Vanner)
-FPSC model pack of your choice (Courtesy of Rick Vanner)
-FPSC model pack of your choice (Courtesy of Rick Vanner)
-Bloodeath's Bloodpack When it comes out (And if desired will send all completed overlays when selected+will send a patch upon final release)
-Vorconan's gamecore add-ons pack
-Olegs tank model

Everyone gets-Rolfy's waterfall and waterfall decal, as seen in Eldora: The Golden Land.

You are free to post WIP's here.

Dead line is 23:59 GMT on the 21st of July. (you have 1 month!)

Oh, and it should be a 256 texture... most people use 512 anyway....

Yeah sure you can do a charachter. i'd love to see what you come up with in under 100 polys

Changes:
256 texture instead of 512.
Trinity and eldest are judges.

Note: because this ones a bit differnt check what the marks will be awarded on as it's a slight bit different than the other two. (mainly the first critera).

Yeah if rolfy makes another of his amazing charachters you'll all be doomed. Hehe.

I wanted a more open fell for this comp. You could make something as small as a pencil or as big as a buildig. As long as it is 100 polys or under. And you get 1 mark for every 10 polys under 100.

Doesnt fpsc make the map 512x512 no matter what? atleast thats what i always thought, im not gonna enter this one, seems too hard lol

Alright, i just remember hearing a long time ago that if you made the map too big or too small it resizes itself...but, idk for sure..

Anyway the theme that tyrano man has choised is very good.
I have a tip for beginners , make a barrel or boxes they are very low poly and looking very good. Have fun with this guys...

@Tyrano - I would strongly recommend not putting Black Terror's Script up as a prize, last time that happened it took him forever to deliver it (you can ask Jenkins).

Here is my WIP..well its done really I just have to animate it. Anyone ever see the 'LongJohns' from the movie Mimic? Well Here are the 'SlimJims' Insects that have grown to mansize proportions and manlike characteristics.They will have retractable face mandibles to reveal the more insectoid face beneath when attacking.Sythe like claws will retact also. -78tris-

looking good people.

@silent thunder: It didn't think it was a suitible prize anyway.

Each catagory is marked out of 5.

so for the first critera:

greater than 100 = can't enter
90 or less = 1
80 or less = 2
70 or less = 3
60 or less = 4
50 or less = 5

But bear in mind you wont win just by making a 12 poly cube. be as creative as you can with your small poly limit.

That would be a 12 tris cube, a cube only has 6 sides, which would be 6 polygons. Tris is when a polygon is divied into two.

Just to clear all this up you have a limit of 100 Tris which is the same as 50 quads after triangulated.

hope that clears things up for people

so what is the texture size ? in 256 x 256 it looked horrible, but when i had it in 1024 on acedent it looked alot better, 512 would be good though

EDIT: Done with My entry, sorry for the fact that it'll enter the editor sideways... (That's the price to pay for sketchup) Last Time I checked it was 53 Tris, and a 256 by 256 texture, Enjoy!

I made a P90 model. The problem is I don;t know how to count polys in anim8or. Could some one plz tell me how? THX! And attached to this message is a screenie of my P90 model! Feedback plx. (my very first model!) And yes i know that the model is rough around the edges...

thats the whole point, you have to try and make it look as good as you can for low poly and low texture size. This will hopefully improve your overall modeling and UV mapping skills and will make you think outside the box.

You're useally right, but look at higgins model, It's a great example of low poly modeling, I was orrginally gonna do the NES Zapper light gun, but it came out at 93 poly's so I did the system itself.
