phil17.
Thanks mate, but sorry this wasn't ment for multiplayer.
Maybe i would make a copy for multi with some changes.

mrniceguy.
Some of them are whole meshes, and imported as 1 object
into the segment editor.

And some had to be sliced and made 2 objects out of it.
And then place 1 mesh.
Aply texture.
And place the other on top.

Looks great! I might tone down the fog a little just a tad, or find a better skybox, as the fog doesn't merge well with that sky.

New pictures looking good the only thing is would you have shadows like that if fog was around as it blocks the sun.

But anyway the models and textures are looking good.

Thanks Airslide.
I will look into that.
But untill now i will use this skybox since this is the
best that fitted this scene.

Oh and now i also have moving clouds thanks to s4real's
post concerning the FPSC script find gold edition.

Quote: "New pictures looking good the only thing is would you have shadows like that if fog was around as it blocks the sun."

Yeah i thought of that...but didnt had any solution for it.
(because without lightmapping it looks horrible)
But right now my biggest concern is the level lay-out.

And i didnt thanked you for the skyscroll script!
So thank you.

Well a minor update.

Only 1 tree. (only this time its very big)
And 1 extension of a building. (which the player will never be
able to go to, because its for decoration)
And skyscroll.

Well here are the pics.

Note: You can slightly see the "new building" through the windows)

I was busy with trying to make decals...
But found out that it was impossible for me.

Oh by the way these pictures dont have any lighting.
Its a test to see if its suits the atmosphere.

Anyways...comments and crits are welcome!

Hope you like them.

---EDIT---

And also as for the skyscroll's end...you wouldnt be seeing it in the end.
because i will make more buildings so it wont be as noticeable
as it is now.

Ah, well, depending on your problem it looks like you might be able to use Decal Maker. Especially if your problem is spending so much time starting FPSC over and over again to try and see if the decal is smooth...trust me, that isn't fun.

Or at least for some steam and such.

and extend the level a bit up.

Amazing stuff. You've got an amazing talent. I can't believe that you say it runs well because that's a HUGE map. But since they are segments that must help.

Shadow heart.
Thanks man glad you liked it! Once you work hard for your game
everything is possible.

Erpt 12.
Thanks mate! It isnt huge (not yet) untill now it uses a quarter
of the whole level....and also...i think if you make a game with the stock segments and fill the whole level up, that it would
slow down the framerate.
Because they arent fully optimized, and these are.

But i would edit this post with a screeny of a desert segment i made.
And this time the whole level is used.

---EDIT---

Well as promised here are some screenshots.

1 screenshot containing:
New models,
Ground fog.
And a W.I.P model "Hell Gate"

The other containing:
A desert/dune...kind of landscape.
And the whole level used.

Here are the screenies!

Also can you post a better screen of your re texture of Jon's weapons ?
Cause i really want to see what you have done

OLEG.
No its not a retexture of Jon's weapons.
Its a model (made myself) with a texture of John's mp5 hands.

The model that is pierced into the spiky thing.

phil17.
Thanks glad you liked it!
But the dunes/desert kind of landscape isnt going to be in the final game.
Because it doesnt fit in this game.

It was merely a test to show how "big" the whole 40x40 segments are.

Into my surprise it isnt that big, its just how you lay out your level that makes the level "big".

Okey i thought i post some screenies about a enemy i am creating.

It is done the model itself, not the animations and such.
And also i have to try to make a basic uv for it.

Anyway i was wondering....
About bond1's video tutorial about rigging a character.
Since it isnt on the web anymore.
And i dont have it.

Bond1. (if you are reading this)

Do you have the video? (please)
And also if it is possible (only if it is possible)
could you send it over? Or maybe host it somewhere?

I am not trying to be rude, but i really want to try to make
my own characters.

Also Butters?

Is this a good mesh for a basic character?
And how are the new buildings?
Do they work well?

Anyway hope you all like the new creation!

And i hope it is possible with the video...

s4real.
Thanks glad you like it!

And also the character is done i'll send it over to you.

Inspire.
Yeah okey you are right.
But then again....this is my first "human" model...
I'll follow some tutorials to try to get into the human modeling.

But thanks for the crit.

Okey great news!!!
My first character with animations worked!

I'll post some screenshots soon of the enemy ingame!

---EDIT---

One side note though...
The uv map is exported in the wrong way...
Does anybody know how to fix this?
Because most of the work was in the texture.
And it would be a shame to trow it away.

The "Hell Gate" looks like a combination of the gate of oblivion and stargate Nice looking desert, Poly count on the level?

TATBS 1.8 is now fully functional. Brilodis is having its districts extracted to Battle City. Krina and Karin are twice the size. And you’ll see 5 times as many breeds of monsters... It’s Kalspher V3.

On the desert its quite high poly.

3600.

But then again its for the whole level.
And it works fine...

And as for the hell gate.
Yeah its inspired by oblivion.

But its not done yet.
I want to make these bumps...where the spikes are coming from.
Like that those spikes just bursted out of the earth.
And also i want to make some more gory model for the hellgate.
Some spikes with humans or body parts on them.
And then of course i need to texture those.

No there isnt any demo available yet.

If i am honest...i was more working on some characters
then the actual game itself.
Of course these characters will be in the game.
But now that i have made 5 characters my ideas are running out
for enemies.

So that means i'll continue the level.
And maybe when i see some scenes i'll get ideas for enemies again.

But this idea will never stop.
Unless there is some problems with.....uhmmmmmm
no it will never stop, only when the game is finished.

Cheers,
Cheese Cake.

Yeah and about the characters... maybe if I win you pack... It could include just the ones on each side of your sig. That's all i really need anyhow. Also if you didn't mind I was going to use them in a commercial game. I would hold to you forever grateful my dear sir. They are just what I've need for my game.

Thanks mate.

Thanks glad you liked it, but this will have a different story.
Its in the future and you fight some weird things.
(sorry didnt wanted to tell the whole story)

ASTEK.
Yeah so i noticed....Well, i am still working on the pack.
(sorry it contains a little bit more then i thought it would be)

game lover.
I make my meshes in 3ds max, and delete every unseen polygon.
Give it a UV-map, and then convert it to X.format.
Import it into Segment Editor.
Apply the texture on it.
And then import it into FPSC, and you are all ready to go.

And its alright about Cheesy.

Cheers,

@Cheese Cake - well all I can say is this whole thread is fantastic!

I dont think I ever seen this thread til now, and if I wasnt planning on getting Oleg to make some custom work for me (champion he is). You would be next on my list to hire. (in a joking way, not meaning anything)

Buildings = Ace, and nice to see some landscape in effect.
At first I also thought you were making seperate segments and linking them all up, or placing these as entitys. I see your going all the way with these making them segments, very nice. Keep up the great work.
