Oh come on! You can never have too many revolvers! I think revolvers have to be some of the coolest looking guns ever made, especially some of the ones made back in the 1800's

EDIT: I'm a little disappointed that he didn't have any long barrel revolvers though...

and I wish the m16 was full auto and not burst fire...

The M16A4 has a hidden animation for full auto. All you need to do is open the gunspec and remove the comment for automatic fire and change the iterate and reloadqty to suit. Then, reduce the fireloop value to around 4000 and comment out sframe 4-7. If you simply uncomment the autofire, it will bark out 3 round bursts which is also pretty devastating.

Zaibatsu , I'm glad you don't mind. Since completing this pack, I've modeled an 1880s peacemaker with both the shot barrel and long SAA barrel. I've been doing some research on antique firearms and might try to do an 1851 style percussion revolver with correct reloads.

I've also messed around with new models for a P90 and a M249PARA for anyone who just groaned at seeing that lol. Oh, and spell casting too.

Quote: "How about a crossbow or an axe?"

muggins majik, MP5 has an axe and I know Bond1's pack will have a crossbow. Jon's might too. FPSC if fairly rigid as to what kind of weapons can be pulled off. I would have loved to make a modern crossbow but weapons needing visible ammo and non-exploding flak projectiles are sort of a no-no.

Thanks Underside for posting that... It was educational

Also, thanks to Duplex for breaking this news in the first place.

On a side note, I want to point out that I retained rights to the models, so it will be possible for me to add new weapons or items using the same hands. I'm actually pondering putting together a freebie mini x-pack with additional melee weapons and/or melee capable items (like a flashlight or binoculars). Would that be something people could use?

Thanks, Dan. I will. Now you and Vorconan can help me decide what kind to make... A saucy little surefire or an oldschool D-cell skull-crusher. Maybe neither.

Ugh. You know, I never realized GPS released a finished P90. Might not have bothered otherwise. I had only seen the super tricked out one that was an old WIP and I'd seen one requested a few times (maybe it was always Airslide... squeaky whee phenomenon LOL). Oh well. At any rate, it's been modeled and animated, just need to UV it. It's also a little different from the one he (or Jon) did. I blame getting hooked on Stargate with SciFi playing tons of reruns during the final season. Which is not to say my version will qualify as being cannon for fangames.

Additional melee weapons would be VERY much appreciated and put to very good use (i.e. beating on bad guys).

I noticed the light when the guns were fired was red. I then looked in the gunspec files and found three new variables at the top. MUZZLECOLORED etc. Was this always possible because I was never aware of it.

lol Errant (or Jake) do any of your hand variations match with MP6 or MP5? Also can you please list some of the main hand variation styles. Stuff like this should be on the FPSC homepage so people know what there getting! Any chance of a new EAI video soon?

P.S. Warren wants to know whether your guns bolts/slides stay back when out of ammo and or fly back while your firing?

Some people might not like 'em, but I think revolvers are just the coolest. I wish these packs came with a revolver with a long barrel, but I guess I'll have to wait until you share/sell these.

Opposing Force, Those variables were added around the same time as dual wielding, smoke speed and zoom accuracy. Was v1.04-ish but check the version notes readme to know for sure. Someday I'll make a stungun to justify making blue flash. Been using some random colors for spellcasting as well.

Quote: "do any of your hand variations match with MP6 or MP5? "

Slayer_2, There are no exact matches but some similar to Jon's MP5 in a generic, fps-style fingerless glove sort of way. My hands have geometric detail for the gloves, so it wasn't possible to do a bare hand look like with MP6. The UV mapping style is also very different from MPs 5 and 6. In lieu of that, what's theirs is theirs...

Quote: "Also can you please list some of the main hand variation styles. Stuff like this should be on the FPSC homepage so people know what there getting! "

Here's a help guide image for the hands.

Quote: "Any chance of a new EAI video soon?"

TGC is supposed to be putting together vids for the MPs. So, I hadn't planned on doing any more for these weapons. Changes are subtle from the latest batch of WIP videos I did. The only thing I haven't shown are the revised animation for the punching and the zombie attack. These will likely be shown when Rick or someone from TGC makes an official release thread or around newsletter time.

Quote: "P.S. Warren wants to know whether your guns bolts/slides stay back when out of ammo and or fly back while your firing?"

They animate while firing but FPSC doesn't support "empty" weapon states and I personally hate seeing the slide magically pop back if slidelock is animated as part of the reload. The exception being the M16 type rifles. The animations imply the bolt carrier is locked back and released as part of the reload. No fumbling about with the charging handle or forward assist. Otherwise, I would say these weapons are fully animated... Hammers drop, slides rack, cylinders revolve, rounds get stripped off the magazines and so on.

Quote: "Oh and Errant a big question do any of the guns have iron-sights? If so which ones? And if not will there be a possibility of an iron-sight pack sometime?"

The carbines with Holographic sights have a pseudo irons overlay. The CQBR's "co-witnessed" sight is below.

There is an iron sight for the M16A4 but I didn't include it with the pack for continuity reasons. I'll probably release it but I don't have any plans to do an irons pack for reasons I've probably mentioned before.

Endless Fps Team, I'd say save the money and get the 20% off discount for both but if you want only one pack, it depends on the sort of game you want to make.

Nine and Ten have a slightly different flavor. MP9 is a little more Pulp Action and MP10 is a little more Military but they're meant to mix well with each other.

Edit... I'm slow. Glad you two like the hand variations

Underside, My method is really not so different. I commonly scrap things that don't work. Some of the weapons were UV mapped multiple times over the span of production. Some .PSDs evolved from others.

No plugins but a ton of layers. Sometimes 400-500 of them. Soft light, overlay, color or saturation and the occasional multiply, screen or linear dodge. Basic filters like spatter and gaussian blur. Also, some glowing edges and cloud renders here and there. Some pattern fills and a ton of time in quickmask mode. Even more time spent pushing pixels and testing in-game.

Certain things, like textured plastic is just muscle memory now. I record actions for some things but not as many as I should. Some things like worn finish/bluing I fail to commit to memory so I just sort of wing it. Happy accidents, as Bob Ross would say.

Unhappy accidents would be working too late and accidentally saving/closing a working .PSD with layers collapsed. It happened at least two or three times for me.

Oh. And I can't overstate the benifit of an LCD with 1000:1 contrast ratio and a dark room when working with dark colors.

Yeah I crawled out of my cave cause s4 said someone thought they were dull.

Just to give my 2 cents. I love the packs. And the amount of variants is great.

Anyways great pack. Personal fav is the Katana.

Best of luck with these Errant.

Hmm i have notcied with the guns and i have both packs by the way, that when the frame rate gets to low or too high, the animation gets way out of sync with sound and you can't change weapon. This usually happens with the JSCS breecher. Maybe because of the long animation? But other than that they are all great. I like the M4A1 with holographic scope thingy.

The framerate/sound issue is common with all the model packs and many of the stock weapons. If the source code from X10 is ported back to X9 everything will be timer based, so we won't have to worry about that

Why Lee didn't do that in the first place I'll never know

Hopefully I'll get my disc soon...oh, the curse of snail mail Actually its just me getting a little anxious

Hi Luciferia , The weapon switch thing is an FPSC bug that usually occurs if you collect a weapon or ammo entity while the reload animation is playing. Hopefully this will be fixed at some point. If not, I'll need to make available an alternate .X file that includes a shorter reload.

Airslide, sit tight. It'll be there soon.

Loc, glad you like the katana. Comment out the automatic fire anim if you ever want to just make it do single swipes.

Underside, I sent you an email.

Go Underside!

We can't have people pirating this work, it is an insult to cheap, high-quality 3D media. And if the guy can't find $20...well, somehow I doubt he isn't living with his parents. Add that to the way he types

So, Errant, how many million have you gotten so far? I'm guessing at least $2,512,670. Don't ask me where I got the random number.
