Some poor 11 year old kid was shot in Liverpool recently by another kid. I think it's realy sad and whoever gave him the gun should be held just as responsible as the kid who shot it.
Gun deaths were down from 89 to 50 last year, probably won't be so low this year, but in context to USA gun deaths it's pretty low and I'd hate to see my country get paranoid about it as the press always tried to whip these things up.
I already think police are too hard on kids. Back in my day if you did something wrong you got a police car ride back to your parents.
Now it seems pressure to meet crime targets means kids are charged as criminals over minor things like: criminal damage for climbing trees, attepted arson for playing playing with matches even if you didn't set light to anything, assault for throwing a cocktail sausage (all true stories). The repremand system for kids is design to get them to accept a crime without a trial. It's no wonder youth crime is on the up if we arest kids for just being kids
