I recall this!

I've been looking for something browser based to play on my Palm TX, so I'll probably sign up later. If it doesn't fit the screen though then I'll probably never play it.

About 720px is the minimum width.

[EDIT]
The only gripe I have is that the PayPal buttons slow the page loading, which means that sometimes clicking 'Fight' over and over is slow and frustrating!

I'll find one that fits eventually! The screen on the TX is 480x320, which is pretty big but yeah, not big enough in this case.

Well, you should still get a horizontal scroll-bar, and the only thing on the right is your stats, so you'll spend most of your time looking at the left and the middle...

I noticed that switching the theme changed the layout a bit. Does this change it in-game too?

/me doesn't really like horizontal scrollbars.

I get a minimum of 530px with Cupertino & Teksolo, 515px with Aware...
Hmm, actually, it's my browser that doesn't go below 515px due to all my extensions.

But, yes, the theme does carry over to the game.

Why not just try it on your Palm?
It's easy to register and login

I wanted to be a thief too; little did I know that you couldn't go back after selection. And there was me expecting a lengthy explanation.

Now I'm some kind of freak who finds pleasure in killing animals and stuff.

Just make another account? Actually, you could probably have fun with that animal killing part. Now my question is, why does my experience go way past the 100 limit? Am I supposed to fight me master before I can level up?

You know what'd make this game kick-ass? an AJAX based interface. So all the menus and stuff stay where they are, the only things that change are the contents in each box.
'twould be sweet.
Anyone up for it? Haha.

Aw it won't be the same without you

As for ajax support, likely not possible with the current interface, but if you write the plugin and I'll incorporate it into the site

I'll be adding updates slowly over the week until I get it feeling about right, if you people have any issues or if the game doesn't feel balanced let me know!

Ahh, it gives you 60 rounds of attack...
Wow, for 16 gems, that's not very much. Only about 4-5 days worth. That's a pretty poor animal if you ask me! Haha, just jokes

[EDIT]
Maybe you can get more out of it by feeding it?
Let's see
[/EDIT]

[EDIT 2]
It's attack rounds, not Turns!
And yeah, you can feed it to give it back its attacks
[/EDIT]

[EDIT 3]
But, you can only feed it once a day...
[/EDIT]

[EDIT 4]
And being resurrected, it gets all of its attacks back
[/EDIT]

Level 3 is sooo hard I lose money when fighting rather than gain it, because I have to heal completely every time, and it costs so much

Sounds like you need to upgrade your weapons. You do have to heal every time, but it's a bit cheaper as you don't get hurt as badly and the bad guy dies quicker

Took me a while to find out where all the stuff had been moved to, but now I levelled up
BTW
Only 3 travels is a little steep I was thinking more along the lines of 10... Also, it would be nice if you could onlock ways of travelling straight to certain places. (Maybe you could find a portal in one city that transports you to another or something. Or maybe a taxi that uses no travels (but you would have to pay).

3 travels in one day! Just wait till tomorrow ^.^

Also, I've set up a link in the game to IRC. If you're a regular to devhat, just join #logd in your normal client.

Otherwise, you'll see a link in the game to come join us (me, atm anyway)

J2D, the slow page loads were because the PayPal image for 'Author' isn't actually an image, but a php script. In particular:
http://logd.dragonground.net/images/logdnet.php
It's serving up the image every single page load, instead of using a statically linked image.

Using the FF Extension Adblock Plus, I block that image, and everything works perfectly smoothly

[EDIT]
However, that is only after you're logged in.
The Login page uses a gif image:
http://logd.dragonground.net/images/paypal1.gif

Hmm, ok, I suspect what is happening is after it loads that image it makes a call to the logdnet server to tell them about our site, and puts logd.dragonground.net on a list of running servers.

I cannot remove this image as it would go against the license to use the software, and I would be banned from being on the public list of running servers

I'll see about enabling caching to see if that clears up the issue, but I wonder if it's not the image slowing things down. I don't know, as I have not experienced any slowdown really, in IE.

I've checked further and it does appear that the call to the logdnet server (list of running servers) is what is slowing it down. I'll check it out and see what can be done.
