I've heard they can provide for some interesting results
The eyebrow's quite recent - about 3(ish) months old. Got my tongue pierced at the same time - now,
that's great for the ladies

Wash 'em every few days (at least once a week) - Use the DreadHeadHQ Lock pepper to make sure they knot up better.
After I wash 'em, for maybe 2 nights, I will sleep with a nylon on my head - knots up loose hair. When washing I do the same, so loose hair can't escape (only started that recently).
If there's a bunch of loose hair, I get my mum to help and tie it down to the dread it belongs in with an elastic. I then go from dread to dread dread-balling the loose hair, pulling it through with a dread-tool (also available at the hardware store), and using Lock Pepper, I then clockwise rub it into the roots.
That takes a long time, though!
I
should be using wax, but I hate the waxy feel.

Cheers
I love styling mine now - I've got some home-made beads that I put in, a Tam, a dread-band, a visor, etc... It's great
And now I have the Tiger stripe, so I don't even have to decorate them! Woo!
Bleaching the dreads really dries them out, and opens up the cuticles, meaning the hair knots alot easier, too.
Quote: "Hey dreads guys you have straight hair, don´t you? If you had curvy hair probably you would have stronger dreads, but have straight hair... IMO straight hair is too thin for dreads."
My hair (normally) is perfectly straight - that makes it
very hard to start dreads. I've had mine for 10 months, and they're only now really locked up tight.
Curly hair makes for much better dreads, or at least getting your hair dread-permed before you put them in (which I planned to, but forgot!
).

Haha, I just thought I would fit in better for a production of the Wizard of Oz
