OK, I like the lighting in the earlier image. The town image just seems a bit too bright. Reducing ambience and adding more static lights would probably do the trick

o.k., but the ambience is already at 8, and trust me, this is one of the only outdoor levels( youll still be outside from time to time in some of the other levels ) and indoors it looks even darker than silent hill. do you think that if i changed the sky to "night" it would ad least look darker? but ill take your word for it. though i think the ambience should be higher than 5

I myself always use ambience at 1... though I also get complaints about my game being too dark

well, this is ambience 6, but that isnt what did the trick. i just took a static light and changed the colour to like, dark grey or black. something like that. anyway, this is how it came out and i think it looks cool!(i also changed the sky to night which also helped). even though you can hardly see thee bloody and goryness of your hands, but you really only need to do like 2 min. of gaming before you comeinto the light. but its kinda cool because you dont even realise how bloody you are and when you finally see it comes as a shok.

the flames give off their own light, i no its hard to notice. if you look at the guy in red near the end, notice he's more lit than the other 2 zombies, well thats because theirs a flame beside him, but i might get around to it. yall got to realise i cant spend all my time on this one 30sec peice of the game, im still working on getting 3/4 of the way done ( its already half done ) and then ill work out the smaller tweaks. and actually the 2 flames in the front give off white light.

o.k. heres a screen with yellow light for the flames. i didn't put it into the actual game yet because i didnt think it looked as good. but before i make a final decision, i want to hear what yall think. compare this one with the other one and tell me what you think.

welp, i think it looks fine. by the way, i got some really cool backround sounds made: there's a baby crying but its in a deep demonic style voice, then there's the classic wierd sounding voice that sounds like when someones cold and breathing into their hands, there's a heartbeat (what kinda horror game doesn't have a heart beat?), there's like this man screaming but when you get closer to the man it becomes more demonic until you're right next to him and then... BOO! they're hard to explain but if someone could tell me how to attatch ab audio file to a post it would be greatly appreciated.

Umm.. You have a story and plans but you haven't written it to paper? You should. It's impossible to remember every single thing what happens in the game and what time.

yeah me to, even though i dont really think a game can be to dark. The darkness just makes it a little scarier.

@Chees hed

As you can see by everybody else's comments, your game does need work. Another thing... don't argue with butter fingers, hes always right, And bad comments are good comments to me., personally I like them better than good ones because then i always know what to fix. It also makes me want to try harder and impress people, one more thing don't deny that your not a noob, everybody was a noob at one time. Even me myself am still sort of a noob

Good luck with your game and I hope you do good with it and im open if you have any questions, so feel free to ask.

Just some things to think about.

The zombie idea is burnt out
Your a little late to give chase, but if you make up a good story line and piece in some custom media and nice level design you can prove to every one that zombie games never die
Also if you want I could help you with the story line or proofread it

NBKgames, they're not REALLY "zombies" they're more lilke possesed people. 1)most of them dont look like zombies, 2)they dont act like zombies[they walk normal, talk normal, and they dont eat people, they torture them], 3) they never actually diedlike a zombie normally does. so, they r not zombies. though i am open for any suggestions anyone wnts to make. feel free.though i will not accept if you try to completely re-create the story.

Zombies never die! and welcome 2 the forums.

o.k. almost got a demo, just need to make a download link. to tell you right now the demo daoesnt have any story which will be in the final game, and it will only be the first 2 levels (which, in case you're asking, is short.) its really more of a gameplay demo and will show the aspects of creepiness. and, to be honest. this game isnt extremely scary and is not supposed to be. what im aiming at is more of a "disturbing" image. you might get a jump but from shock not scare. so i hope you like it and ill get it up soonest.

yeah it looks ok, there are a couple inconsistencies with entities, i.e using sci-fi and modern and ww2?? but the main issue is your lack of custom content, the reason no one has posted in ten days is because this is all stuff which has been used before, i m not saying make your own, but just have a peak into the models and media forums and you 3will see a ton of stuff that can help you create great games that look original.

Your story is good, its following convention of a zombie horro, whether you will admit it or not, and thats good, creating something completly new is dificult and can just end badly if not done properly

I often go through the convention of the genre of game im making, not because im lame or nooby, just because its easy and they are a convention for a reason, they are good.

like i already said you game is looking good, and if you keep working on it, add more content and show off some good screenies you might get people interested again! Who knows this good be a BOTB award winner! just keep trying!

and for gods sake its spelt joHn

sorry about the sukish spelling. anyway if you want an idea of what im talking about the "zombies" are like the ones on DOOM 3 but less, uh, zombieish. i use sci-fi, modern, and WW2 doors and segments cus you're not in the same place ALL the time. sometimes your in a high-tec research facility (sci-fi example), or your in a calssy mansion or a small town (WW2), and modern goes just about anywhere. actually, one time you go to a military base hidden inside a nearby volcano.and when i go 2 models and mediai cant find where u ACTUALLY download media, but ill look.

its just at the bottom hand corner of the post. and i understand it is hard not to use both ww2 and sci - fi but you game will suffer inconsistency if you do use them both, however clever placement could solve this, but at the moment its a bit over the place. but still keep on going with this!

i understand. well, i've gotten a long way since the 1st cuple of screenies. i assure you that i work hard on putting them in the right places. You'll see rusty old doors in HELL and sci-fi in VOLCANO RESEARCH LABS. so i try.

k. here's a better picture. the guy in the back is like the hed honcho final boss guy and touh to kill. so what do i do? i give you a mech suit to fight him with. when he has 10x the healt, 2.5x the damage, and 5x the speed; and you have a huge clunky mech suit with a high powered 300 round mega-minigun and there is flames and blood and gore and corpses everywhere. tust me, you dont need me to tell you how this goes. ---=

p.s. if you wonder what the guy in the back looks like, he looks like the guy in the previous picture

the new final boss. a big, weird, thing that runs 5x faster than a normal character. basically, his only attack is pin you up against the wall and eat you to the bone so fast you hardly know what hit ya. the only way to beat him is to get him stuck ( which i know you can do, basically, get behind something until he runs to you, gun him down, beat the level, and then find out if you stay in hell or go free. )
p.s. i actually had to change him to immoble so i could het a picture ( hes not immoble anymore )
