While I can understand Higgins angst in this and I do feel sorry for him,I just feel that things got out of hand real quick in this thread,and the language is innapropriate for many users of the forums.
It is a difficult area and there is no way to stop this from going on,in all honesty it really wouldn't matter if the pack was of a lesser quality than the one for sale.
I do however notice a distinct absence of RD on these forums unless it is to give away a free product in what appears to be an attempt at trashing any sales for members on these forums.
He also seems to gloat at the fact that he is nvidia sponsored and doesn't need the money,well maybe so, but does nvidia sponsor the artists to produce free merchandise,I dont know.

I do wish that Higgins had kept his cool and waited to see if more folks had gotten the gist of this thread,he would have got more support in the end.
Lets be honest most of the sales on the forums are to members who wish to support their fellow developers and it may not have hurt his sales as much as he thought.

Oh Red devil I am gonna produce an entire city pack for sale,you might wanna get started on that,chop chop.

I think the point of this thread has been made, I like the pack and I like Higgin's pack so I will probably get both of them. They each have there qualities that are good, but I do stand firm on the whole "imagine that" feel that this has..

Higgins keep yer chin up mate, you're known around these forums and I think that your rep will proceed you... keep the good packs coming mate.

And to our German brethren; we should be working together and not against each other. There has to be a mutual agreement made. It makes no difference if you stay on your forums or you come to ours, what does matter is that we maintain a basic level of respect for one another.

As moderators we have a job to do and if the AUP is broken we have to take care of it.He and the others violated the AUP and have been moderated.That's part of life...you do the crime you pay the time.
While I neither the mod who did the banning or the mod who had to clean the garbage up I can safely say that neither of those two mods are inclined to lift the bans.It's only for a few days.
As moderators we have a job to do and if the AUP is broken we have to take care of it.

Please have mercy and use the search function.

I'm not going to quote anyone here, but the attacks on those of differing opinions has to stop. Some of you make it seem as though you are defending this forum, it's members, and the content created here, yet you curse and belittle your own forum brothers and sisters who do not agree with your opinion of the situation. Some of us believe in a free and open system, where everyone has the right to create give away what they will.

No one raised a stink here when LOC made the "School Daze" pack and gave it away because someone else made a similar pack of lesser quality and tried to sell it, did they? Show me that thread.

This whole thing seems a little one sided to me, but I would never curse any of you for feeling the way you do. Try to have a little respect for your fellow members who don't agree with you.

kk i want to ask some people this: ever think that since RD is from the german forums that he has neither seen higgens and butters packs? In my point of view I see that RD came over to these forums to showcase his hard work only to be flamed by people who say he stole there ideas? I mean how many WW2 games have you seen CoD? MoH? i mean there wasnt any arguement saying they each stole each others ideas now was there? although Red devil will have to change the hands of his weapons becuase I have a problem with people pirating stuff *twitches*

Higgins has a good chance of losing ALL of his sales to this, Why would people go out and buy his pack if they can just download a free one. I think theres nothing we can do about it. But i also think that was red devils intentions.

Red Devil those are the Mp5 hands with sleeves added. So they are still Mp5 hands. if you want to redistribute the pack you need to have original hands unless you have express permission from Jon fletcher.

If an alteration of the model is not against the license provided with the model pack, then it is perfectly acceptable.

I don't own the model pack and so, I don't have the license, so I do not know if this sort of thing is acceptable or not.

I suggest that unless you are interested in this model pack, then please stop posting here. If he is in the wrong, he will be dealt with when he releases it. Just sit by and watch until the time comes that he is actually doing something wrong. Since this pack hasn't been released yet, he is, in fact, not doing anything wrong.
