I would upload inspirational pics of the game I'm working on, but:

A) My entity placement isn't that good.....

B) I'm not that confident with my work....

Here's a link if you wanna check it out anyway....

My entity placement is glitchy and buggy and out of place so don't feel bad, I'm not confident with some parts of my work ether so don't feel left out.

Quote: "For the candy dispenser if you think about real life jobs and ect, someone working there is bound to say "I want a candy dispenser in here so I'm going to buy one" it just adds a little humor apart from being scared to open the next door scared a zombie will jump out.
"

I now understand.

Just a suggestion though, the game will look better with smaller rooms with lots of stuff in em rather than a big room without much..

Check this out-It was one of my first games and it came out ok, it was scifi-ish like your game seems though.

Yeah iv taken your advice on making the rooms smaller it helps reduce lag and it makes the game better.

Cool looking game, to bad the links don't work right for me.

I understand you wont have as much time to make models its ok as long as i know you can do them.

I need one medium sized square sign that reads "Lobby" color should be rusty brown.

I need another medium sized square sign that reads "Armory" color should be rusty yellow.

I need another medium sized square sign that reads "Communications"
color should be rusty green.

That should be it for now.
Thanks for the help man.

Ok, I'll work on em. When you say "rusty" do you want rust on the sign or what?

Yeh, the first pic looks as if you've just dropped loads of entities in with the mind to rearrange them but couldn't really be bothered. Everything is sitting around the sides of the room, try puting entities all over the place, but realistically.

Seriously, you have a computer monitor with no chair, that's really gonna get uncomfy for the employee, standing around all day, a sweets dispenser right beside it? It's a briefing room, not an office. You'll get dispensers outside in the corridors mabye, but not in the briefing room.

My idea of a briefing room is of rows of chairs, but a desk at the front and a projector on it. A black screen behind that and dim, small lights above.

Yours looks like a really randomly furnished reception area. :p

Yeah I'm trying to learn to place things right, i always rush with entities placing.
I have a doc appointment today so i don't know how much i will get done.
Things i want to get done today/hope to get done/will get done.

1.Remake the halls, they look rubbish with only lights and nothing else in them.
-
2.Remake the Lobby, its glitchy and buggy and doesn't fit right.
-
3.Remake the armory, after looking at it, its more of a furnace room or basement, i need gun racks and ect.
-
4.Remake the Briefing room as butt monkey suggested, i rushed the Briefing room.

Thanks for the tips butt monkey.

EDIT-Sorry puppy didn't see the edit you made along with the download.
Thanks for doing this for me.
Ill let you know if i need any more things made.
In about a few more areas i plan on having a bio chem lab, were toxic wastes are, so i may need some models made.

I also might consider looking into making my own models i downloaded some model maker a few days ago, and never learned how to make models, to busy focusing on making the game.

Yes i know they are key elements in making games, i just feel i should have models in the game that i made, apart from just placing objects and stuff, I'm also looking into scripting, scripting prob. wont come till my spring brake which is in april sometime.

So far iv been running into millions of problems with my game, from me not placing things right, to buggs, to glitches, theres a lot iv been recreating and deleting, I'm having problems with doors, i can't seem to be able to place doors right that makes me mad because i know its so simple I'm just to dump to figure it out.

Hello I'm back, doc said I'm fine.
Anyways.
I'm sure you will sabotage the thread XD
Hallways still need fixing.
Same with the lighting, lighting needs a lot of fixing.
Rooms need fixing.
So basically everything i have placed needs fixing.
I should have them fixed tomorow sometime after i get home from school.
From there i will try and provide screen shots so you judge/give me ways to improve.

Well <--firewall/popup blocker/anti virus-<--My thread
Now I'm safe from you.

Hmm ill take that in thought, i could set it up like that.
I think ill leave the projector out, as for i wont have 10-15 rows of desks and except to place 10-15 people sitting at those desks, when really its just you and a few remaining scientist/doctors scattered around the game.

I plan on having one scientist in the Briefing room who tells you what rooms to go to and ect and what to do.

Well I'm off to bed for tonight, school in the morning of course.

Plans for the game tomorow.

Take puppies idea of making a Briefing room and making it sorta the way he did.
Delete the halls.
Delete the other rooms as for i messed them up big time.
Fix the Briefing room up and make sure the entities are placed right the lighting is somewhat perfect.
Once I'm done with that ill slowly work out the halls, I'm having trouble placing doors to whom when you press "Enter" it opens and bam your in the hallway, if someone could tell me what i can do to make that work, please tell me.
Thats about it for now ill update you tomorow.

Goodnight.

Hello everyone.
Iv started deleting the rooms and halls as for i need to remake them.
I'm going to focus on the Briefing room first.
Ill put some screen shots up in a little bit.

Thanks for being so understanding, i know iv been messing up a lot and remaking things, but thats what happens in making games i guess, i learn through trail and error.(I think thats how the saying goes)

Ok here is the Briefing Room.
Notice the lighting is still bad thats because I'm still working on it.
So don't rant on about the lighting because i already know, i just wanted to take a few pics of the room to let you guys see what it looks like.

Thanks to Puppy for the idea of how to make it look.

Better!, but you could probably make the room one segment less wide, so it doesn't look as empty. You could also make it one floor taller.
Finally, this is just me, but I'd say goodbye to the tiled floor and room and maybe use "detention block low" from the stock media. But that is just taste.. But I'm sure that after you light it and add people, it will look 100 times better.

Yeah i was thinking about deleting one segment, it does look empty.
For the tiled floor i will see what it looks like after i place more lights and delete a segment to make it smaller, and add some people.

What i need is a script that when you walk up to a "Person" he talks about how everything happend and blah blah, so i will need voice acting if anyone is interested, but that wont be till after i fix everything up.
I might even take the outside part out and just spawn inside, but i will have like a "Blurry" wake up screen, as if i got knocked out and i awake sitting in a corner or something.

Yeah thats why i need voice actors to say sentences and i will just change the "Main" to the file sound wave of what the voice actor did.
Or if there is another way that your trying to tell me I'm just not understanding.

W00t 100th post.
Ah sure but I'm having trouble.
I notice a lot of other peoples games the lights are always on.
With mine for some reason i have to walk up to the light on the wall for it to turn on.
Like the room will be dark, then when i walk towards a light on the wall the lights for that wall light flick on, then when i walk away, they turn off.

Anything i forgot to do to the lights?
