Not bad, its probly because Crysis probly has the best performance of all time. I wish ArmA - Armd Assult was that good.

Its not good if the shaders are on medium. If they are on high it looks WAY better.
Better tweak - Textures to medium and shaders on high.

Images wont load for me, can't find "imageupload.com". I actually kind of want to see these, because my friends computer can only play it with a decent FPS on medium (even though its a beast of a machine).

The graphics really are quite impressive, but I've got to admit that I was dissapointed to find out that I can only get 15-25 fps on high with a 3.0Ghz Core 2 Duo, 8800GTS, and 2GB of RAM. ( that's with DX10, setting it to DX9 will give me a ~5 fps boost. )

90% of statistics are completely inaccurate.

The special edition is crap. It comes with a 2 bonus dvds that have the sound track and vids aswell as screens.

Also, today I got a dell poweredge 2300 (old I know) with 6 hdds, 3x 73gb, 1x 91gb and 2x 36gb. I need help as I am thinking about starting my own game creations forums. I also have 120gb, 80gb, 2x 40gb to add on. Though the scsi drivers ain't installed. It features 512mb ram, dual 450mhz cpus and 2mb vga. How much would it cost to set it up for use? It has hot swap features too. Thx.

the 91gb is actually 9gb, which makes a total of 300Gb. (With the others, 580Gb.)

Why am I on post moderation again? Anyway, I can't take shots as I get an out of bounds warning when plaing. Is there any way to stop that?

You need to buy more ram for it. 512 mb is no good. You need around 2-3 gig.

Are you using the demo?

Yeah, speaking of which, it wasnt very high. Shaders are everything, it was just medium-high looking.

Well res doesnt count. Im just saying that medium shaders take away TONS from very high. It looks nowhere near as good as it can.

Yeah, it does It really effects the look during gameplay. Why do you think people play at hi res? To match their desktop res?

But to say "very high" or not it doesnt count. Low res does look crappy but its in a different catergory than "full gfx". Sorry for misconception.

This little OC'd 8600 might be able to use very high everthing at 640x480. Sure it's at Very high, but it still looks like crap.

did a benchmark with everything on high just to see:

Quote: "Run #1- DX9 1280x1024 AA=No AA, 32 bit test, Quality: High ~~ Overall Average FPS: 31.11"

with everything on medium, audio high, AA4x - I get 65 fps avg.

I am going to keep testing, but I think I can get a nice mix of med and high settings to achieve a constant decent framerate.

system: Q6600 Quad @ 2.4 (no oc, stepping B, revision G0, SLACR), 2gb ddr3 1333 (uc to 1066), asus maximus extreme mobo, XFX 8800 GTS 320 (G80)(factory overclocked)

latest 3Dmark06 score: 11344

I'm not.
just various settings in the crysis benchmark tool. its just a gui that passes values to the crysis benchmark batch files for the game settings. if you run the batch files directly (from the crysis bin folder) it uses your last saved game settings. the gui tool makes it easier to adjust and retest quickly.

cattlerustler did a smarter config. As I say, shaders are everything.

EDIT: gamerdude, just go to crymod and they will help you, with tutorial videos etc. Very quick to learn.

, actually your post gave me the idea so thanks. shaders, when done right, make all the diff - and you can back off tx and aa

yeah, all medium, but shaders high and a touch of AA yields a 40+ fps avg. Ill see how it actually looks in the game on saturday. Previously I ran all medium but aa was 4x and I got 60+ fps. This may actually look better and wont have noticeable frame rate peoblems if it stays above 30, we'll see...

Here are a few screenshots I took at 1280x800 with everything set to very high. Only about 25fps, though.
