Love the lighting...and the shadows. I can never get the shadows to work, and I changed everything I needed to in setup.ini

I've got some progress today.
I also ran into my old beta and I had a little
fun in re-making a section of the map.

Alright guys. I'm wanting to leap forward with this a little
ways but just by myself... its kind of prolonging.
I've been thinking about switching to the Leadwerks Engine... but
I'm not quite certain.

I have, though, reconsidered a new arc I can take in this game
for an FPSC version. Now, this is not me asking for a team...
I just would like to know if anyone has any suggestions or help
they would lend or see of lending. If so, hit me up with an email
and we can discuss these matters.

Thanks

Astek

In the first screen the lightning isn't correct.

The lamp is attached to the roof. The light source
is there I suppose. But how can it be, that I see shadows on the wall. (just a detail...)

But great work on your game, keep the good work.

I like the stmosphere. Although what is it with you and CoZ putting that ceiling light on walls lol?

It looks better than putting it on the ceiling... and also
a little more unknown public factors.

I'd like to see the level designs differing from CoZ levels. That first screen looks ALOT like DS. The 2nd one is better as the lighting is different. Try and avoid yellow-y brown

Well I'm about to tackle a scaled city level.
It goes like this-

1. Subway
2. City Streets

The rest is yet to be determined as the order goes...
so I will be leaving them out.

We work together. I assure you that this game falls more into
its own than just a Demon Sun "copy".

Lookin' good mate. In the first shot..as you would say "The Light placement is not emitting enough light". Try raising the range of the light slghtly because that arch seems to drenched in shadow.

In FPSC, this colour can be great for use in horror levels, Especially if your aiming for a rustic look. You should never use pure white light, use eggshell white, or a slightly cyon/neon tinted white, its more natural.

Keep it up

CoZ

I'm working on a city block portion. I can't decide whether to
make it a cutscene or make it fully playable. It is the beginning
of the game where you first start off in the city block and the
Russians are starting a crackdown on resistance groups.

You are in the midst of evading a Russian assault team.

EDIT: The build time is insane. I will find good use to it though.
Expect a level demo real soon!

I know, it's just that the colour is overused in my opinion. It would be nice to experiment with some others...

FPSC has given me several issues and instead of pulling all my hair
out... I intend to at least take a break from it.
That is why I'm pausing for now.

Oh, very sad to hear that. If you keep on doing it though, I belive the green light looks a bit out of place, but hey, it's your game!

I've started back with a new approach. While I'm still
working on HCZ, I'm going to implement a certain "tribute"
style to this game. In saying that, I've found out a way to
make great city scenes and still keep FPSC 38FPS!

I'm going to be posting more shots soon. So come back!

Okay, I need the help of some scripters here.

These are certain thing I want to do... but I find that I need
scripts to do so.

1. Is there a script that makes a light be off until you reach
a zone which turns it on?

2. A script that can make an entity spawn and then change texture
to alternate texture and then die? (For an enemy)

3. A script to change the speed of an enemy until you leave a
certain area or so?

4. A script like in Beyond Life, where a picture hud pops up in a certain area and then disappears after a certain amount of time?

These are some I've been needing. Can anyone help me out here?

1. is pretty easy, and I think it comes with later updates of FPSC. It's called 'lighoff.fpi' and you can use a trigger zone to activate it.

It goes something like this:

Then you make a triggerzone and change the main script to 'plrinzoneactivateused.fpi' and change the IfUsed attribute to the name of your light.

Beware you are limited on the number of dynamic lights you can have running at the same time. I've only managed 6 in one room, and that was glitchy...

The lag in the video is from the capture software.
Framerate is 38 FPS. Dont' be a jerk and rate 1 star for THAT.
