Bloodstock. Great metal festival, the only thing I didn't like were the sound problems - they you basically had to be standing in the right spot for you to hear the sounds at the right levels, so for things like Iced Earth I couldn't hear the vocals too well from where I was, but Nightwish and At the Gates I was at the front for where the sound was perfect (whilst others further back later complained)

If anyone doesn't know what he's referencing... I'm only going to tell you this once... don't try and figure it out. After finding out about *it* last month, I actually IM'd Dink and phoned my sister warning them to avoid *it* like the plague. It isn't funny, it isn't entertaining, it's just horrible. As you can see, I've been traumatized lol.

Out of curiosity, what did I "mod" that didn't need to be "modded"? I'm quite capable of admitting mistakes if need be. Do you want a full explanation for my deletion of posts in this thread?

- Somebody posts a pic when they're underage.
- I delete that single post, then put a warning without using his name.
- The offender comes back and whines, and then 3 or 4 others post about the rules, calling him by name, etc.
- Obviously I have to delete his post because it eludes to everyone that he's underage, and then I had to delete the other posts that were talking about him. It doesn't matter if they agree with me or not. If they're mentioning him by name, for or against him, I have to delete their posts so as not to give visiblity to this user, because he's underage.

I will *not* delete posts simply because I disagree with what they say, and I never will. There's a difference between laying down the law and censorship.

Happy?

Seriously, I have written in this forum about 500 times for people to email me if they have issues with what I do here, and I will reply to them all individually. So far I've received about 3 or 4, and they were all complaining about getting slapped or banned. I have *never* received indication through email that I am being too harsh.

Quote: "just that he could stand to unwind a tiny bit."

Funny you should mention that, but I'm actually on time off from work for this week Care to spot me $5k to fly to Europe or Asia for a break?

Thanks for the good words, everyone else. I try to be fair and mod fairly, just I guess I'm more active than many of the other mods.

Jeku and I rarely agree on most topics, music is about it lol, and one or two of our debates have carried over into email in the past if I remember correctly, but while I sometimes question his judgement in non-forum related stuff (the stuff we debate about), I've never once questioned his moderation. For whatever that's worth anyway, lol. No offense to any other mods, but I've always considered Jeku, Van, and Jess to be "the best" mods, in the forums I "hang out in" anyway. Which narrows it down to GC and DT, lol.

I think we should have an "I believe in Jeku" campaign, even though he's a big bully.

Give Rami brown-noser of the year award...

Just kidding, but I agree with Matt's sentiment.

Sometimes things may appear strict or harsh, but the moderator's job is to act to keep the forums clean and uphold the best interests of TGC and its forum members, their safety and experience and this is one reason why TGC has such a great community; trolls, spammers and idiots don't live long here, which is a good thing.

The AUP doesn't even matter here. The mods decided on 18 as far as I know.

oh sometimes they make better decisions, like when FredP banned me a few times for nothing. But i agree with jeku on this one, children under 16 should not be posting pictures of themselves.

Decisions are made at the moderator's discretion and they apply the AUP, but the AUP isn't a flawless set of rules and that's why mods will act relative to certain situation. But like the rest of us, they're human and are subject to error like the rest of us, but I've found 99% of the time for them to be just - I thought I got cheated out my Jeku when he slapped me for calling a mods a name in a joking fashion, the word I used was considered offense, to me it was a fairly meaningless word - had he not slapped me I wouldn't have learned to be more careful. (Yeah, I know, it was ages ago, but that was the only time I've been slapped)

For this case I think the mods agreed that 18 would be a better age.

The mods are allowed to decide anything at their own discretion - although in most cases the AUP is the holy grail of decisionmaking.

Not that it matters, as you can trust them to be fair and just to their best effort, otherwise they'd no longer have their position, would they now?

This question has come up before, and it reminded me about a part of the AUP that was pointed out then:

EDIT:
I saw this a few pages back:
Quote: "Damn flickenmaste, how's McLovin doing?"

and I laughed my f*** head off, because on of my friends at PTI is absolutely identical to the dude from super bad. I swear, first time I met him, I seriously thought it was the kid from super bad. Even funnier, one of our other friends looks a tiny bit like Mclovin.
