There might have been one of these before, they seem to be very popular at forums for whatever reason.

So we have a name thread, a show your face thread and now the only thing left is pretty much a "show your computer setup" thread, here is your chance to fill people with awe with your super ultra computer or whatever, so just to kick it off (if it even will kick off) here's my current setup.

I like the knife on the table... creepy. Hopefully it is to kill your mac with, because they are terrible.

There are too many threads of this...

I have a crappy 2004ish dell dimension 2400 with an upgraded to 2 gigs of ram, and a x1300 radeon graphics card. And my 500 gig maxtor.

this is the mouse I use if you care:

and here's a render of my desktop case

I'm too lazy to get a real picture of it. I made that forever ago and already had it uploaded

maybe I'll take a picture sometime...

Okay I admit it, the knife was staged there I just had to put it in the shot.
And well meh I like my mac, but I just can't stand the OS wars going on, I mean, in the end it is all about personal preference, people should just be able to use what they WANT to use and not having to be "forced" into using something else.
And I just got a mac because well, I just got one, I just looked for a new computer and this one seemed like a good deal so hey, I got it, whatever, big deal
EDIT: Oh and for the record the apple sticker on my deal monitor was NOT put there by me, I've just kept it there because I'm worried I'm getting those white remains that you can never get off if I try and rip it off.

I thought so, just were a bit too lazy to search and there wasn't one on the first or second page (I think?) so heck.

It is a dream! It really helps a lot in basically everything in the design genre! I recommend you go get one THIS MOMENT! Well it's just simple awesome in for example photoshop.
Oh and I got the A5 size because well, it's obviously quite a bit larger than the A6 one and still not that pricey, so I would recommend that one, but I'm sure the A6 one would work just as good.

Haha, wish I could but lots of important and expensive stuff I got to take care of this year (car, house/apartment etc). Maybe I can talk someone into getting me one for Christmas .

Quote: " mine are Hd 555"

Ah, mine are the HD 595. Sennheiser certainly make awesome headphones, very comfortable and great sound quality.

Heh, my room is quite small and I have a lot of stuff so it's a good job I'm not claustrophobic.

And as soon as i clean up Jeku's drool , i'll start working on getting everything shiny so maybe i'll have a newer picture some day, wich will look about the same..

Mines just a simple silver PC box with a standard silver LCD monitor.

Specs:
Nvidia 7800GT 256MB
Athlon 64 +3800 (2.4 GHz)
200GB HDD
2GB of RAM (2 x 512MB and 1 x 1GB)
300W PSU
a DVD and CD supporting disc drive

It's really under-powered and all my games suffer from artifacts in one shape or another. Some are frequented by freezing, even Q2. It never lags, even on Crysis on all high settings or in a huge 64 player online fight in BF2 on highest. But sometimes I wonder if the lag would be better. (Artifacts are about as fun as lice).

Funny, I thought we had all 3 (many many many times) for the best part of a decade now...

Anyways, I can't take a picture cos my main PC and screen is in the boot of a car currently (worryingly my bird tells me the at the time £450 LCD screen doesn't work anymore...) Although come to think of it would 2 laptops, 2 PCs and a view of the sea cut it?...

But here are some web pictures of my keyboard (I have it in red most of the time), mouse, and Connexion control device thingy:-

Cheers

It's ok. Very sturdy and heavy. Well put together basically. And it glows blue. Nice I don't do 3D work, so I don't know how much it would help (I think a lot with the right drivers), but I tell you, I was a little let down with the control system in things like Google Earth. Anyways, I bought it mainly for navigating my editors, and once I mucked around a fair bit in DBP (not as easy as just using joystick commands straight out the box) I found it a brilliant tool. So much so that I think the drivers for Google Earth just weren't done that well. In Google Earth it feels a bit like you are trying to force it to do things, but using my own DBP code along with the joystick commands (and a lot of mucking around to get it just so) it responds wonderfully. Zooming in and out, rotating the display/3D object, moving around, all seriously easy. Very nice really.

Cheers

Sounds Good. I think I may find it useful, says here it works with Photoshop and Cinema 4D. Also for £40, I think I might get one.

I've got a few pictures, with points of interest numbered.

1. That's a second chair I have, currently being used to hold Hawaiian Shirts.
2. I've got a pair of speakers on my computer as well as on my desk, for a total of four speakers.

Nothing out of the ordinary here, the picture on the screen is in this thread.

1. Some AWESOME VINTAGE NIC-NACS! These things easily date back to at least the 40's
2. My poketwatch

1. Racks of games and music in jewel cases
2. all the clutter that has collected in my printer tray
3. A Mac laptop which is being used as another storage surface.

Try pouring gasoline and maybe some alcohol over it and lit a match, should immediately install Windows Vista on it.
