That looked awesome.

I heard the game is going to be about a squad of marines...and judging by what it said "Prepare to Jump", I think the game is going to involve the Helljumpers from the novels.

I was thinking those were ODST pod things dropping in to the city, but I don't really know.

What I don't understand, however, is why the video is hosted on download.microsoft.com - I thought Bungie's contractual obligations to MS had ended? (Along with their general attachment to MS)

Halo 3 is like a curse word to me now. A very strong one too. Much worse to me than the F word. The latest Halo 3 update almost caused me to break the disk.

They got rid of rocket race, they got rid of social big team, and they replaced ranked big team with squad battle. Squad battle is 6 on 6 and that may not seem like much of a difference but it's very different compared to 8 on 8. Also, I can't play team doubles anymore because I haven't bought the legendary map pack. I never will buy the map pack either.

Now aside from getting rid of the only things I play on halo, the achievements pissed me off. They make 30 new achievements, you can only get like 10 of them because the rest of them require a map pack they HAVEN'T EVEN RELEASED!

It seems that most games have done that, not just Halo 3-- they lock certain achievements that are only available with expansion packs. I'm not an achievement whore so I couldn't care less.

Because they cost 600 points. I can only buy 500 or 1000 points. I don't want to spend that extra $6 for points I'll never end up using. So yes I'm very cheap lol.

I am such a ridiculous Halo nut, I'll buy anything for Halo 3 if it comes out. I even got the Legendary edition. The only one in the shop, costed $200. I also got Marathon for XBLA, but it's kind of crap...

How can you say that it is overrated? I mean, I don't play it that much these days, but a casual glance on my friends list will tell me that most people on XBL are playing Halo 3. I don't think that there is currently a better game on the 360. Perhaps COD4, but it dominates mainly in multiplayer. Halo dominates in multiplayer as well, but also has a better single-player game.

Because its made up to be an "out of the world, never seen before" type game, when its not. Its just another FPS. Also in the graphical department, its not even up to the standards of gears of war, and gears of war came before halo 3.

Really objective list, Robert F. I don't know, but people complaining about a game that is overrated always makes me feel as if they need to feel cool. Something like "look at me, I'm not going with the hype!". Well, in the case of many of those games on the list, the hype was right.

The legendary map pack is free. (i think)

I really like Halo 3. However, one of the things I love about Halo is Master Chief, and the way you feel like a super-soldier while playing as him. If they change that mechanic, then I have lost all interest.

The reason i complain sometimes, is that it actualy annoys me that games from huge companies Like microsoft, get all the credit, when the games these huge companies produce are infact most of the time not as good as games from smaller compinies. Its completely unfair, and being an indie game developer myself, as many of you are, it becomes even more agrivating.

I found Halo3 quite entertaining, the extra multiplayer, new vehicles etc etc all add up to a pretty good buy. If you bought Halo3 and can't enjoy it then go grab friend and try co-op, it's a whole different sport.

As for overrated, well of course it is, just like every other game released in the last 3 years. I found Mass Effect and Assassins Creed to be complete overrated tripe. Any game on the 360 get's hyped out of all proportion. Hype is not important though, enjoying the game you spent £44 on in peace is.

One game that has not disappointed me in any way is GTA4, that's an incredible game. Just ask those 25 or so remaining pigeons that I still have to find, it takes a while to find the other 175!.

This looks pretty good. I heard that they were making a "Halo 4" in one sense of the word, where you play as a marine.....

On the topic of Halo being overrated, I would say it kinda is, but so is GoW, and every other "big manly game"......

GoW players call Halo a pansified, goreless n00bfest, while Halo players see GoW as an over machofied sausage fest with big sweaty men.....

I'm on te Halo player's side mate, but I must say, CoD 4 and HL2 owned Halo 3's campaign in terms of story IMO, I have both, but I still play Halo because it's just so good in a way I can't really explain in words. Nothing compares with getting 3 buddies over Live and taking on Campaign....

MSG4 has too much story IMO, waiting through 90 minutes of cutscene to get to somne action? That's not a game, it's an interactive DVD!

That's why some people love it, I got all dived in to the MGS4 story before and wow, it's pretty amazing the way it ties up. And no human can understand the entire thing... Still, in my opinion, amazing work.

I, personally, have to say that while Halo 3 is still an excellent game, yes, it is not as good as everyone thinks it is. The previous ones were not. Halo 3 is not as good as Halo, or Halo 2. As for halo+gow, they may be fun games, but there nothing special as all the hype makes out to be.

The only way you could measure "The best console" is the numbers sold. Other than that, its entirely personal preference.

As for halo+gow, i was simply asking what all the fuss was about, then this rant ended up developing. And Windows??? Come on, for Years theve been developing it, and those idiots over at microsoft just cant get it right can they? Well actualy if they cared more about the customer than their pocket, then yes they could. Its tooooooo easy to get viruses for windows, in linux you would practicly have to type sh programname.run, to run the virus urself, then input the root password so the virus installer can gain access to the system. On windows, all you have to to is have an unlucky day online, and thats it. I could go on, but ive run fed up with this thread.
