Yes the wii cant put out 360 or ps3 gfx but this is an disaster

Well, it wouldn't be inaccurate would it?

You spent £180 on a console with inferior graphics and a motion controller good but so badly implemented anyone with sense uses a Cube pad (see Mario Kart and Brawl) rather than a £130 console with good online play, excellent graphics and a wide range of solid titles instead of three games worth playing and shelvefuls of shovelware.

I know, I was stupid.

What cost £130? (I'm in the States, and don't know what's less expensive than the Wii that has better graphics. )

Yes. I got a Wii and now regret it. I have Metroid Prime 3, Brawl and Zelda TP on my shelf worth playing. Everything else seems to be minigame collections or dodgy PS2 ports on the platform. The online play sucks and is too locked down. Everything in the shop is a ripoff. The Wii sucks; Nintendo went real Apple on us and sold us 10 year old equipment in a small, shiny box at a premium price.

The 360 Arcade is £50 cheaper than the overpriced Wii in Britain.

specs for the wii are just in the middle of the 360 and gamecube and aint that bad when we are looking at wath high voltage is doing with it
and yes the wii is overpriced as they from the first wii manufactured earned 40 $.
And we all know that all new consoles is loosing money in the begining like the 360 and ps3.
As the manufacturer wants to get out as many as possible in the beginning.

I have both 360 and Wii, I have COD4, GTA4, Assasins creed and some other games. I perfer my Wii, as long as you avoid crappy games, does it matter that they are even there? That's why you read reviews. The controls on Wii can absolutely destroy the dual anolog gamepad, as long as they are implemented properly(which they are alot of the time, not including shovelware). Have you ever played Quake on Wii? Funnest game ever.

I know they have ported over resident evil 0 and 1 from gamecube to wii,only for japan.

Yes, me too. Impressive tech behind it also, full normal maps running on everything, as well as RGB gloss maps and per pixel lighting. I know that's pretty standard fare for X360 games, but for Wii that's pretty nice, plus the fact that it has online and Wii controls, it should be one hell of a FPS.

yes the 360,ps3 and pc versions are probably really good
But the wii version is an yet again completely other game and a silly ps2 ripoff.
Yust like the latest band of brothers double time that got a 3 out of 10 score.
The wii suffers from the fact that the ps2 is still alive,so i just hope now that it will die
Its less expensive to convert the ps2 version then the 360 version.
because then you dont have to recode effects or reduce some textures etc and just do the wii controls and think we are happy with that.
call of duty world at war will probably be a completely other deal, as there is now the wii the lowest spec hardware and not the ps2.

The Wii's very desirable over here, and pretty hard to get, hence it's cheaper to buy one of the lower variants of the 360 than the Wii....

I of course, have an Elite with al the widgets, (cooling fan is essential IMO).....

The large issue about the wii is that a larger range of people likes it and dont mind the gfx and price at all.
Thats why its so hard for the others to grabb sales from them.
Wath can you do when you alreday have tryed with better games ,better hardware and better online and finally a extremely lower price.

I have always expected the wii to be the underdog so iam a bit amazed.
Wiifit that is priced around 100 £ is constantly in the top ten in sales ?
But i dont mind as now when iam going to buy my 360 so do i get an better console then the older version.

Yes overhyped, but the animations, and combat system were awesome. You actualy felt like you were a fighter, whereas most hack+slash's, the enemies/you cant block like you would in real life, your sword just goes through the enemy, or theirs through you, and all you hear is an "ow" sound.

I think it was a lot of fun. Although, I never did finish it, got sidetracked by COD4 and never returned

I would probably actually like the Wii if they improved on one thing - the multiplayer. I would be willing to look past the dated graphics if the online component was actually worth using. It offers virtually none of the features of Xbox Live, and the friend code system is pointless. I've only tried it on one game, but my brother said that you use different codes for each game anyways. It also has no voice chat, and as far as I know, doesn't seem to have any good online shooters.

Of course, it also doesn't help my opinion that anyone I run into rants on about the "wonders of the Wii". Everyone assumes that because more people buy it that it is automatically better than everything else. Personally, I like to think that the elite keep their toys exclusive

you are as far off as you can get when it comes to spechs of the hardware.(wii have double the power of the gc)
even the old gamecube had better power then the ps2 but it had better developer support.
The problem is that its alot easier for developers to port a ps2 version on to the wii with only giving it wii contriols.
No hazzle off adjusting particle effects or any textures
A friend off mine told me this as he is working with console games development
its all about the money they want to use.

but if you can get the conduit to run on an ps2 so will many developers hire you instantly




airslide i have only tryed medal of honour heroes 2 online and it works exactly when playing on the pc.
detecting servers by it self that you only click wich one to join.
Have never neaded any codes to play online ever ?

There is wii voice for instant chatting that the new animal crossing is using .

so i have my hopes still untill they release it and shows me wrong.

Yes, you bought the wrong MOH You should get MOH Heroes 2 for the Wii, which is largely regarded as the system's best FPS to date. And my friends worked on that game

ahh you dont remember i have that game too
and yes its good as a fps but really good as mp on the wii
I have loved the moh series since they started, the only one i havent played is european assult as it came out when i sold my gamecube
Iam trying to get it in its gc version but hard to find now as i can play gc games on the wii
moh pacific on the pc and gc whas completely differrent games and have played them both
have also played all the cod games exept for cod 4 (various version pc,gc)
i have owned all kinds of consoles and computers
atari 2600,mega drive ,snes,saturn,dreamcast,psone,xbox,ps2 and now wii
vic 20 ,c64,c128,atari stfm 520,atari ste 1024 ,amiga 500 ,286 ,386, etc
have always bin an gamer
whas on my way to buy the atari jaguar when it vanished ?
Bad marketing there as i always have wanted to play that alien game on it

Iam supposed to have the atari 2600 somewhere here in storage with a bunch of games with packaging and all i belive ?
Only thing broken is the controlers.
but they work with trusty amiga joysticks too

i have the game where you fly airplanes shooting at each other.
The tank in maze game.
That racing game that neads specific controller with wheels and the controllers.
and a bunch of others.
I dont know how well they are nowdays as they are packaged at my parents place
but everything should be there ?

My favorite game was on the Fairchild Channel F:

The controller moved up down left and right, and twisted left and right. The game was "Videocart-9: Drag Strip". What you would do is accelerate by twisting the controller, and shift the car using the x,y on the joystick in a standard 4 gear h pattern. It was so much fun racing my brother

Yes and that is the problem with many games as they dont even try to use the actuall power of the wii that it have
Its simply an money issue.
If you convert an ps2 game so do you simply use the same textures and meshes and all.
But with an 360 version is alot of work with downgrading textures and mesh pollygons and taking alot more time
And then being an more costly attempt to do it.
But look at the wii version of call of duty world at war now compared to the quantum of solace game
cod world at war has the wii as the lowest tech machine and quantum of solace have the ps2
wii versions of specific games videos..

They did their best with Quantum of Solace for wii. Although I have it for computer (which its AWSUM). I have played it on wii before and it isn't that bad...if you ever wonder if you should get a game or not...judge only the game itself and don't compare it to other games of similar type. Thats what I do.

Look at the Harry Potter games.

The only decent movie games are the ones that come from Starwars/ Lord of the Rings

There was this one Harry Potter game I played years ago that I thought was pretty fun. I think it might've been the first one, it was a platformer. Had all the elements of a great platformer. Great looking levels, interesting play, and even had some quiddage thrown in.

And I'm not even that big of a fan of Harry Potter.

And then we got 007 on the N64, quite possibly the best multiplayer FPS of all time.

GoldenEye? That was a fantastic game

As with most people I jump around which projects I work on and which I drop for a while.
Currently I'm back working on Sioux, a Hollywood Western RTS.

As in, a movie tie in produced by a cheap company, like the incredibles games, they sucked, etc...

The only tie ins I've found interesting have been Goldeneye, I borrowed my cousin's Nintendo for mor than a year just to play it, most of the Harry potter games are mildly interesting, and also the Spider man games, but I've only played 1 and 3.

Yeah, I liked 3, apparently they're pretty similar, but it was awesome. Sort of a superhero themed GTA.

The only gripe about the game was that the last fights in the game were too damn hard!

Ha, when the nex gen consoles came out, everyone was like "Oh, i have a wii. They're less expensive, and waay better than the xbox 360. I don't care about graphics, it's gameplay that counts. I love the wii"

Now no one is playing the wii, and im sitting here with my xbox 360, with great graphics and gameplay!
...actually that's a lie. My xbox 360 broke. Then i got it fixed. Then it broke again... i've lost pretty much all faith in consoles.

my friends ps3 is quite good, but only because I didn't have pay a bazillion quid for it
