Over here it's reaaaalllly hot. I mean, in the town I live in it's 44 degrees celcius, and in some places it was getting to 48 degrees. There's been bushfires all over the place, looking out my office window I can barely see across the road, all I can see is smoke, it looks like an atom bomb hit the place.

Wherever you are, is it really hot there as well?

Wow, Thraxas, from here I dunno whether to feel sorry for you or not.

Seriously, it's so damn foggy from all the smoke, it's making my eyes water, and I can see a fair bit of mist down my hallway.

Oh, man...

I was just watching the ABC news, and this town that we go sometimes to go on holidays is completely burned to the ground, except for the fire station...

Wow, that sucks. It hasn't gotten that bad here yet, but at the moment the temperature can't be too bad. All the smoke from the bushfires have blocked out the sun.

Ah well, the camera is still not working, but I'm serious; The sky is supposed to be clear blue, but it's a thick white color. Here is a news report.

Contrary to what that says, fifty people at least have been killed, and over a hundred homes burned to the ground.

You idiot, Melbourne is the one being hit with 48 degrees. Too bad I live there lol. The power went out dozens of times,To many people with all the aircons on and are to girly to withstand at least some heat.Inside my house its it already 30 degrees, and the reason the most of the fires have started is because of STUPID arsonists.

On the news there is now 65 Dead and there estimating over 100. A family were stuck in there car and burned to death. They attempted to drive on the road and the tires melted, They weren't able to open there doors quickly enough and were engulfed in flames.Almost as if Hell has already reached Down under. Hopefully those arsonists will fess up for there murder and hopefully it wont get any worse, I don't want to be evacuating my home yet.

Today wasn't so bad, Had some rain and the humid temp is about 26.
I think those arsonists need a taste of their own medicine...

I'm in NSW and had a flaming hot 47 degrees this afternoon, hitting 50 in an aircraft... so Melbourne isn't the only place with flaming temperatures.. although Vic has most of the fires.

Agreed 100%, half these fires are deliberately lit, and it's pissing me off. Those sorts of people should be locked up for life.

It was a nasty 42 degrees here on Saturday. Not just the temp tho, but the wind just staggering. Real shock to the system, and I live in 'cold' part of the state. To the north, it's routinely +5 of whatever we are. Which is where most of the fires are.

ah, jeez, i remember the 2003 fires in san diego. (the witch creek fires a couple years ago weren't close to where i live) It was at least 100 degrees out (Farenheit's better ), plus santa anas and the ash. The fires literally were less than half a mile away from my house before the winds started blowing the other way. Theres a stone wall with the name of the neighborhood on it at the end of my street, and that was completely scorched...

It's horrible, 128 dead, Possible even more, The fire is 4 storeys high and travels at 15km per hour, thats faster than running speed.
Yeah it dropped down to about 21 as well on Sunday, But what would you expect in Victoria? Lol In Victoria there are no such things as seasons, seems like we have anything anytime, one day its hot the next day its raining and freezing.

My friend knows a few people that used to live in Melbourne that died in the fire, They were close friends. I think they were in the car when the a tree on fire collapsed on them. It's pretty crazy, How even the grandparents manged to escape but leave the grand kids behind. I'd hate it if my parents a banded my kids while they were being looked after, I would never forgive them.

today on the radio it said that the winds propelled the speed of the fire up to 120 km/h and more than 130 confirmed dead approximately 200 dead and nearly 1000 homes destroyed, that day it looked like the atmosphere of mars and the heat burned your eyes out.

three towns have been reported to be razed to the ground.

this is reported to have been victorias worst natural disaster in recorded history.

Hell i could still see the fire from my work today.

RIP to all my friends that parished (2)

lol one my moms mates saved himself by hiding in adrainage pipe...

I want to know if those suspected arsonists were responsible. If so, someone should burn them, seriously! It's a real nasty thing to see something like this happen. But atleast the fatalities weren't in the thousand's. (Forgive me if that sounds morbid.)

...and on the seventh day, Pus rested.

many of the fires were started by arsonists, especially the one at marysville wich levelled the town and killed about 10 people..

The people that lit those fires are going to get whats coming to them and are going to be charged with murder and have heavy sentences...
