Okay, so I'm in 8th grade and we're starting to pick classes for high school tomorrow. Based on wanting to go into game programming, what sort of classes should I take?

Well, if your school offers a programming class(mine does) you should take that. I would also take Math, you are probably required to though. Maybe a keyboarding class to. Idk.

Maths (take the highest level you can get)
Physics
Computer Science

If your high school has any programming classes, take them. Learning any kind of programming at a young age can help you out a lot later on.

It sucks: no computer classes whatsoever... except this "Information Specialists" class in career building. Idk what it is.

You won't find many 'good' courses in your freshmen year. I would opt for the business class, if you have any.

If you're looking for a good language, take German. Spanish is old hat, so is French.

I take German & I like it. But maybe that's because I have a German ancestry.

You're French? I don't understand any word besides oui. Quite sad, really.

If you're French, you may not need to take it. Take any other language that suits your fancy.

If your school was at all like my high school, that will be a lot of work. I'd suggest taking art 1 as your 1st choice 2nd elective instead, it will be more useful in the future.

At my school, we have two electives at the same time. Actually we can have more, but you have to be ahead in credits.

For Band, I'm actually decent, in the Marching band, etc.

And for French, I didn't mean I KNEW it, like grew up on it, but that it's my heritage.

I hate foreign languages...
Freshmen year had nothing good, so I took a typing class, which proved to be really funny, because the teacher would always leave, and I was left free to do strange things to my friend's computers.
10th grade, a REALLY basic java class was around... Took that, but it was kind of a joke for me, other people failed the final, but I finished in 20 minutes . And next year is A+.

If your school doesnt have any good classes, try to check out classes elsewhere.

PGDO. it consumes my every waking moment, that is not already being eaten by work / school / sleeping
