STORY:

You were born in 1899 to a wealthy couple in a small town in New Mexico. There were complications and your mother died during child birth. Raised by your father, you aspired to be a successful business man like him. Only in 1917 you were drafted into the war. Those 4 years seemed like a lifetime away from home. In 1921 the war was over and you headed back to your roots. Only when you arrived home, everything had changed. Your father married another woman and they had a child together. You immediately realize she was cold and heartless and had turned your father against you. They decide to get rid of you forever and one day while outside doing chores they attack and bury you alive behind the house.

100 years later - You awaken from the grave. You stand in the doorway of your house once again with revenge on your mind. The house is alive with the unrested spirits of your family. It's time for revenge, you are the CREEPING DEATH!

Get ready for the homecoming from hell!!

Screen shot 1 attached, more to come soon

UPDATE: I have posted a teaser trailer for CD on youtube, please let me know what you think. I wanted to show something that would give a better idea than just the screens where I am going with this.

Story sounds interesting, nice to see someone not going for the standard story of you being the good guy!

The room in the screenshot seems a bit big, if I were you I would make it smaller. As a general note, smaller rooms seem to look more realistic in most cases, as it makes the small amount of space look less empty. Hope that helps you! keep it up dude!

The house also looks very rustic for 2021, even if it is supposed to be in a rural town.

Thanks guys,

Dr. Parsnips - yeah this is the biggest room so far. I do see what you mean about looking more realistic and not so empty. I will take a crack at making it a bit smaller. Glad you like it so far.

The reason for it looking so rustic, even though it takes place in the future is that the family owned the place and after they died(in the house, of course )The house was never sold and time stood still there. Well that is of course the idea. Still working on making it more delapedaded(sp?).

Wow, the screens are great. But I think the rooms seem kinda big, though I'm not sure if they are. And the last screenshot is scary.

I'm making a game that will be scary... I hope.

Thanks for the input everyone,
I have scaled the rooms down to make them a bit more realistic. It is a mansion, so there are going to some bigger rooms. It's amazing all the small details that need to go in to make it look good, but that is almost my favorite part.

Here are some updated screens

update:

here is a screen of the health, yup you find dead rats laying around and eat them to regain health. I know it's sick, but I love it! Also, a demo of the first level will be available for download in April, I am working hard on getting all props and modeling done. Then enemies will be added.

Another screen, level 1 is basically done and I am starting on the second part. This might be the last screenshot for a while until I get a demo ready.

I created my first animated decal and it works great, except is there a way to slow it down? I also do not want it to loop over and over and I want it to stop on the 16th image. Is there a way to do this easily? I tried editing the script, but I see no speed option or loop option?

My main critique is that your rooms seem too big and square. I've always wanted to attempt a full blown house or mansion in FPSC, but plenty of custom segments are required to stop it looking so square and warehouse-ish.

Maybe it's just because I live in an old Victorian house that I feel this way, as most of the rooms I'm familiar with are very tall compared to modern houses. Look for some reference photos of old houses to get your started on the layout.

Keep your lighting subtle and more naturally toned, bright blue doesn't fit well.
