FileFront is shutting down on March 30th if anyone hasn't heard yet.

Don't care, only ever used it for morrowind/oblivion mods and i've always had slow downloads on it. Maybe that's just me though but i have no real use for this.


I'll finish them whenever i can be bothered.

Not a big surprise. It's owned by Ziff Davis, which previously owned 1UP. They tried to sell FileFront along with 1UP but UGO wasn't interested. What's the revenue model for a site like that anyway?

This is terrible news. Every time I always try to download stuff I get sent to FilePlanet which is stupid because it costs and the only other place that had those things I'd download would be FileFront. This is just crap.

I don't know. I never liked filefactory that much, and everyone seems to use it. I just hate the popups and all the other advertising. I just use Megaupload.

I've never liked these sort of sites, so it shall not be missed. Always full of adverts and generally have very slow download speeds.

I think MediaFire is probably the best free upload site, so at least that isn't going!

Use google chrome or firefox and you won't see 'em. The download speed is quick, and there's no bulls*** about having to type in some registration code, or wait for some odd amount of seconds. It also doesn't take you to a billion different pages until you finally get to the page that actually lets you download. Some sites that do that: rapidshare, megaupload, and numerous other sites.

FileFront didn't do that though, and FileFront is the issue. It was actually a pretty nice site. I almost got a decent download speed off there (but I don't get a decent speed anywhere) and... wait, this means Effiles.com is going too!

They didnt say why they where shutting down, they where trying to avoid people to think about that
