Hi all, to those who will get upset with this thread, please leave this thread now. Anyway, after I got home from my birthday party, I decided to turn on the TV & watch the news real quick. What I saw was devastating. If I saw it correct, North Korea apparently wants to blast the Western US w/ a missile.

Oh Dude... I would NOT have posted that... I mean, you're bound to hurt someone's feelings....

I personally don't care what you post...

EDIT:

They're launching a satellite into space!!!!! NOT Launching a missile to "blast" the USA...


However... Since we're on the topic. Obama just gave up our Missile Defense Program so that Russia will help us in the middle east. Ya hear that Poland? The wheels on the bus go round and round.

Which is why I wanted to see all of your opinions.

As long as the rocket stays over their land, we shouldn't care.

However if it doesn't action should be taken.

Right, but if you read the article, they say that it may be heading towards the western US. But I have yet to clarify this is the truth or not behind it.

Besides, there's enough nuclear power between the USA and the UN, that retaliation will occur if North Korea decides to pull anything stupid.

And it may be heading toward Uranus. But that is yet to be clarified as well. "News" (and I use the term loosely) is nothing but entertainment. How exciting would it be if they said "North Korea is launching a satellite into space."? No one would care. They have to make it exciting!

Well if we get blasted(US) then we are pretty much doomed. I don't care if Russia says their on our side or not. They are not to be trusted. Remember after they attacked Georgia. We(US) said to stop and then they said "ok" and then like 2 days later they attacked them again.

See, Georgia was this nerdy geeky kid at school. Russia, is this bully who picks on people. The United States is the Football Captain Jock, who goes around telling them to knock it off. Ya think the Bully would try again shortly after?

Anywho, Georgia started it by attacking South Ossetia and Russia came to back ossetia up. Russia didn't seem like the aggressors this time.

Only ignorant people think Kim Jong Il is crazy and/or insane. I have studied the man and his father at great length, and I think only a smart strategist could keep the country isolated for 50+ years.

Kim Il Sung transferred all the power to Kim Jong Il before he died, in what surmounted to the first communist dynastic power transfer in history. This was 1994, and the world assumed the people would revolt and the country would collapse. So far it's been nothing but back and forth rhetoric between North Korea (DPRK) and the US. DPRK announces they have the capability to build nukes, the US throws its weight, and DPRK blows up a few reactors in exchange for more aid. This new "crisis" is the same thing.

Add to this the current situation with the two (kidnapped?) American journalists who, in my opinion, accidentally crossed into North Korea from China without realizing it. Yes, I have heard of that happening many times before. Now they're detained in Pyongyang and will be held on trial as spies, and North Korea will use them as bargaining chips for disarming their nukes and to receive more aid.

The cycle will continue. KJI's youngest son (that they know of) is getting ready to be prepped and turned into the next God of the land.

Anyway, so what if they want to test a missile? Other countries do it all the time, the US fire missiles on a daily basis.

Ha! What about America's invasion of Iraq or Afgahnistan? Neither of those countries were agressors to the US before it invaded.

THe US / Soviet agreements at G20 are simply an easy success story for the media. Shrewd move by Barrack, because it's not like they're going to actually solve the Economic crisis.

I think the US (and much of the western world) is massively xenophobic. Freaking out everytime a "lesser" country gets their hands on something valuable/dangerous.

I want robotic legs.
