I received this email today:

Judging by the terrible English it might be some form of a Nigerian 419 scam. I'm just curious if I'm the only one to get this.

That pretty well says it all. I didn't get it however, probably because my email isn't listed

Yeah, your email is in plaintext on your profile so it was picked up by a bot which just echoed the domain.

This is a very sad day indeed. Not even bots are interested in me.

I received it a while ago also, interestingly. So it looks like some bot has harvested our e-mail addresses on these forums.

...so we're not supposed to contract her? She seems nice, all she really wanted to know about me was my checking account numbers so she could send me a gift...I mean come on, she said I could trust her

Damn it! Forgot about that. I've modified the profile page to mess up the email address as well. If you find a page where the email address is still in plain text (in the source) please email me.

Has anybody had her sister, Sonia? I had both of them asking for me, how dirty. It sounds like a pervert's dream, but given the title is 'Hello my dear' they don't sound very much like young and attractive 20 year old sisters looking for a hot and attractive, courageous and heroic bloke like me. People who tend to be call me dear are my Nan and those lovely residents at the old people's home I've been working at.

I can smell the cabbage and stew as I read their emails, imagine an Oxo cube advert or something advertising gravy, even with the soundtrack playing the background. Mmm, Grandma's roast.

But if they only want to be friends? Well, that's great! Lets all go round theirs for a Sunday roast.

Well when I got the emails they started with "Hey sexy"... Actually no, I didn't get an email.

I got it, as all other kind of spam. But since spammers are the only ones who write to me I often write back.
Last time it was some guy in Africa called Mohammed Azimura or something who wanted to give millions of $. So why not? Money is allways money...

...not. Actually I told him/her/it to go to and then I said I had tracked his I.P. and if he/she/it/them would stop sending me that kind of e-mail ("Hi, I am a laywer and my client is ded. Do you want his money?") I would send international police to his appartment.

He/she/it has not replied yet

I also got this. Spam mail in horrible english's always fun to read.
Also, if you hover over the TGC Forums-link in the email, it actually redirects to another site. Some english education site or something like that (didn't click it, of course, but googled it.) Ironic, aye?
