I guess its time i start this thread.
The title says it all.
Except, i am working on a script and HUD for a canteen. If you dont drink when prompted, you will die of dehydration (this feature will only be in desert missions)
Fillo is helping me out by making retextures for me ( i am making segments in return for him)
Here are some screens of the first combat mission.

There will probably be a training mission as well.

When i am finished, there will be allies, and subtitles.
Also custom menus.

here are some pics
Also, how do you insert a pic into the middle of the screen?

What i am working on:

=finished
=working on
= need help

level 1. It has awesome terrain now, new screens soon.
level 2
level 3, almost complete, gotta a few more things to work on.
level 4, coming along awesomely, got rain and will have thunder soon hopefully.
The canteen script for the desert mission
modern day army models. Any help in this area would be appreciated
voice actors: please check my thread in chat if your interested in helping.
A program that wont let users hack stuff from the files. I would Give a lot for this.

Wow this looks very nice, especially for outside in fpsc. If you need any help just tell me .

And you get pictures in the middle of the screen by uploading the pictures to photobucket.com and copying and pasting the image code into the post.

There seems to be no lighting at all... All I see is a huge, EMPTY canyon with a few vehicles in a fenced in complex, and telephone poles that don't belong...

Not to be harsh, and I like your features, but the screens look very bland.

@hockeykid: thanks! yeah i might need help with my canteen script

@bendak: I always do lighting after the level because it loads quicker, and this base IS in the middle of the desert, that is the reason its not completely crammed with entities

When you do your lightmapping, have a look at this thread:

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=142333&b=21

Just download the txt file in the first post.

The game looks interesting, however I am concerned about the frame rate. How is it at the moment?

Also, I personally always think that the fire decals look a bit ugly. I think it would look ALOT better if you got rid of the fire and just retextured the plane to look burnt out.

Well, it has to be burning (find out why in the game).
Also, framerate is like 12-26, but my computer has bad specs, such as a raddeon 9000 graphics card.
Also, my goal is for all my segments to be made by me.
Thanks for the comments!

does the knocked over poles look good?

i think the light poles belong, becuase they are leading to some sort of base, the first pic reminds me of halflife 1, and thats a good thing, looks nice!

Philistine.

Lol, J/K. I really think you outta tone down the ambience, also, you should make the plane smaller and more burnt looking. Also, try adding some cacti, it'll add more of the stereotypical desert atmosphere feeling into the level...

Let's remember that many members here don't have super computers, hence the frame rate may be that bad for many. Take that into account when making your game.

If the framerate is bad you can try using a performance mod.

I would use a performance mod, but all mods seem to have too many problems except for s4 mod (which i'm using by the way)
But i will work on increasing framerate.
Thanks for the suggestions!
also, jetfighters are bigger than the one i have, so I think i will kep it the same.
Also, the demo will come after the ultimate competition, because this game is for it.
If anyone makes modern soldier textures, or any modern army models, and would like to donate them that'd be great!

It looks nice, but don't mix and match weapons. Use only one set (which would be EAI's guns, judging by your first pics).

General Jackson

well, the others are for mission 2.
So until EAI updates his mp5 (which i dont like, theres something wrong with the shooting anim)
But there will not be, say, EAI and Simon Benges guns in the same mission.
Here are some updated pics of mission 2

You can get it for a fiver mate, and it's great inspiration for desert scenes...when you get far enough, that is...

The graphics in the desert scene look erratic and non-consistent. Some textures are plain and lack defention, others are overly gravelly and others are just at odds with the landscape. The wood scene is an improvement, but it doesn't show enough to convince me of anything. I like the idea behind the game, but visually it needs work.

83% of women tested found Pus in Boots irresistable. (Based on a survey of 172 women.)

Ditto with Pus, this really needs work IMO. Don't even think about asking me to critisize your work without lighting; I'll spazz out.

Thanks for the comments! lighting always comes after the level.
Also, I will have more pics soon, I have made a mosque for the background (ie you can see it but cant get to it)
also i will retexture the humvee soon to be a desert vehicle.

No, lighting comes hand-in hand with the level...

Where did you get those tanks from BTW?

I agree that it looks flat and bland. General, just decrease the lightmap quality so it loads faster... But we really can't say your game looks good without seeing it properly lit up...
